I have a 2007 International 9200i with 700k miles. The reservoir cap started leaking so its probably spewing out coolant. It's losing around quarter of a gallon per 500 miles of driving. I guess thats not much but it adds up if you do the math. There is also a leak on one of the hoses. I am thinking of taking it to the shop but it looks like it is time to rebuild the coolant system. I really think that is a good preventive maintenance to replace all the plastic parts of the coolant system so it will be guaranteed to last a couple hundred thousand more on the road. My question would be how much do these overhaul usually run and how long does it take to get something like this done? Or should i continue to use the truck and just fill it with coolant. It's losing around quarter of a gallon per 500 miles of driving. What would be your recommendation in this situation?
Time to replace/rebuild the coolant system?

Hoses should all be replaced (even the ones to the sleeper) every 3-4 years,,If one leaks the others will follow soon,,why send your truck to a hop? These are simple repairs you can do,, shops charge $100/hour or more for labor,,why sit around paying and watching for work you can do.

How about the water pump? When do you usually replace these?
