HEY MAN I WANT TO BE A OWNER OPERATOR , AND TELL MY DISPATCHER AND COMPANY TO KISS OFF .. I wanna do what I want, when I want & how I want to do it .. I want some of that money you owner operators are making ...
Lmao -i bout spit my propel in the floor when I read that one today .. I won't say no names but I will make a public response to this ..
1. If you want to tell your DBL or DISPATCHER off and prove a point that YOUR THE MAN cause you bought a truck .. DO NOT DO IT , cause there is way more to being in business than proving a point to someone else . Secondly just cause you own it don't mean you don't have to RUN IT and key word PAY FOR IT ... So you may just eat your words one day if you ever need help on load searches etc regardless the company . You may be able to drive it HOW YOU WANT , WHEN YOU WANT & WHERE YOU WANT .. But once your in business EVERYTHING COMES WITH A PRICE .. And that price in most cases is your profits .
2. The money spoke of I assume is settlement NETS posted on this thread and probably 1000 others on TTR . What you must understand is it takes a business minded person to achieve profitability and know how to use it .. 90% of owner operator or Lease failures are from taking the TRUCK MONEY and living off of it then one MAJOR BREAKDOWN and you have to fold up shop in most cases .
Remember , being in business is a CHOICE it's a lifestyle and it takes discipline .
Just wanted to touch on this tonight

jar-head, well said... anyone thinking of being an o/o should take it to heart... most new o/o s want it all right now... they see the big large cars all the chrome and don't have a clue how how long the driver has been at it, or how long he's been in the business ... or how close he is to being out of business... his personal circumstances may not include a house payment, car payment, ect... the o/o s i know usually pay themselves less than company driver wages... the ones that survive build big maintenance accounts while the truck is new, conserve fuel, and keep up on day to expenses, and know that the home money needs to be made before running for the house... just sayin.. semper fiscatruck, DevilDog79 and tynodine Thank this. -
