You are exactly the type of driver we are talking about if you claim spellcheck changed the word roomate to homeboy. I guess if you do ever get in a truck it will be someone elses fault for building a bridge at 12'6" when you hit it with a 13'6" trailer

Trucking pay is like 10 bucks an hour (if you're lucky) with 70 hour weeks and irregular sleep patterns. It's not like you can be a trucker and teach on the side. There is no on the side. You'll be driving and sleeping or on your way to drive or to sleep.
I'd say you're lucky to have a teaching job.

    Good luck.

If the accidents are not on dmv record or on psp and they wasn't your fault anyway do like military don't tell dont ask I no that's backwards. And for employment gaps just say you were unemployed and didn't receive benefits. I ran into a problem when 1of my employers went out of business I couldn't prove I worked there besides my tax return so next job application I said I was unemployed. As for the charge my friend has 3 felonies for drugs and he been able to drive but it took work to find company he been driving for 10years then u may want to look into getting your record sealed depending on age of charge. I been driving since 2011 I have seen people driving I no need to be home in a chair some couldn't stand up straight, walk, stand, or just plain big im not small but I done seen some BIGGG drivers I just say WOW. I say if u got yo right mind and health I say go for it my dad went to a community for free all he had to do is pay for his books, license he was 61 that's why he didn't have to pay and he loved everyday of school and driving he only got the chance to drive 2 years 3months after he quit cancer took him on his way out he would always say he was so glad he drove them years he saw a lot. MAN I SAY GO FOR IT!!! but look into community college programs companies may hire u faster if u got yo hard copy already. Its illegal fir trucking companies to run your credit unless u are planning on leasing a trk thru them. C r England takes everybody then u can go get your licence there but u take a chance getting on bus whether u do or dont have licence JUST DONT PEE DIRTY!GOOD LUCK

I am not interested I teaching anymore either. I was told hours would be long and I am not above that at all. I have considered the risks of driving at night while fatigued too. My main thing is I can feel layoffs coming on too. That's why I want to move south because cost of living is cheaper as well. I have read companies pay truckers better in Kentucky and Mississippi. Is that the case though?

Thanks for the info man and sorry about your dad. On the credit issue I just read how swift got sued for that. I won't pee dirty and you cant expunge, seal or annull convictions in va. The private school i want to go to had a community college school branch off of them. Agains sorry about your dad and thanks.

IMHO, a 30 day gap or a 60 day gap in employment is not a gap it is a vacation. I would not even explain it. Typically a persons resume looks something like this:

Dec 2012 - March 2013 Head Chef at McDonalds, was able to flip burgers while taking the drive-in orders.
April 2013 - Present Walmart Greeter. Made sure customers were welcomed into store, while also handling theft prevention.

See what I did there? No gap But actually I got laid off Feb 15th, and started work April 15th, 60 days. Nobody will question it, period. Nobody really cares especially 30 days. People expect people to take vacation time between jobs and you can manipulate those months a little bit --- so you have no gap -- if someone calls you on the two weeks into question just say, something like "I was on vacation, but was still employed." or, " I wrote down when the job offer was but I took a few days off before actually starting" -- but trust me, nobody cares, it is close enough to the truth.

Now three accidents that are not your fault that is something else. Maybe just bad luck, but other people go for multiple decades without an accident. I knew a guy that got into multiple accidents, it was never his fault but if you ever drove with him you would see why. He stopped quickly (resulting in rear ends --- not his fault). He did not seem to realize he had to pay attention to the driver behind him. He also lane changed all the time. Better drivers usually will keep a lane for a long time, at least that is what I always taught people when I taught them to drive (cars not trucks, but same Idea). And the concealed weapon thing might also be a red flag for some people. I know a lot of people who shoot guns for hobbies, but not many of them carry guns around with them for protection. Not saying it is wrong to do that, but it will make some people wonder a little bit --- so if there is another candidate that does not do that they might choose him/her instead. Well good luck to you.

Don't do it and put it to rest!
You lack passion, common sense and responsibility. Ever wonder why B.A's haven't done anything for you?
Money fever is not enough kid, specially in this business.
    Find your true passion.

Once you got your CDL you could always go stick or dump or cement trucking.
Lots of uses for a CDL.
Community colleges are the best way in general. The tuition is much lower than private schools and the instruction is of high quality. In Virginia, the instructors are state employees and the trucks have state plates on them.
