johnn5272000, Can you break down the lease purchase plan for me when you have time? Or just tell me the basics of it? Like how long is the lease for and do they have a balloon payment at the end? Thanks and be safe out there.

The lease is different than most you will pick a truck from arrow or lakeside intl it will be financed the same as if you bought it through a finance company. In my case Volvo fin. ser. in my case there is a 10000 balloon payment interest rate is 9% no down you are supposedly locked into working for one of the RR companies. several in the family to choose from so if rr is not for you you can go to another one. That's about it

Well here I sit in Seattle Wa. as far from home as I can get broken down again. This time it is the fifth wheel needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Well after 4 week2 and 4 breakdowns at 3 days off each time with associated costs I am pretty much broke.I am waiting on a call to see if arrow will stand behind truck. If they don't I will have failed pretty quickly at this endeavor. I knew I was kinda rolling the dice with out enough money in the bank after being off injured for 6 months. As far as the company goes they are pretty good you can make money here and they have treated me well I am debating whether to ask for an advance for 2500 with no guarantee of getting it or just say eff it. I'm sure there will be rather bad consequences to taking the truck back sometimes you just cut your losses. well any advice would be appreciated. Trucking has about got the best of me.

I'm sorry to here this. I truly hope it works out for you which ever direction you go.
But I have to ask, you said you started out with little money. How much was that? I'm looking at having $5k as beginning capital. Hoping that's enough.

I had about 5000 as well this time and without the help I got from the company this repair would have put me under. If I have another breakdown in the next month it will probably take me under. As it is I owe 2000 to the company so i will have to work for the next month without time off running as hard as I can just to get back to positive. I can generate about 5000 rev per week if nothing breaks.

    Boy Howdey Thanks this.

Let me just say to those of you starting out it is unusual to have 4 breakdowns in a month on a fairly new truck but it happens. So you should be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Roadrunner has been more helpful in the situation I am in now than any company I have worked for before. The have been in contact with me the head of maintenance called to try to help with warranty and other info, My terminal manager has been the best no questions just how can we help. remember I have only been here a month so having a management background I would have had to give serious consideration to giving a new guy 2000. So here is a shout out to Roadrunner.

Sorry to say I don't know I haven't been to Memphis yet but I can tell you in general LTL is very busy. The docks everywhere I go are full and I have had no trouble getting loads outbound and if I did the broker freight is also going strong. Coming up on the end of the year so things may slow down as usual we will see. If you haven't hauled LTL before I will say that it is different. You really have to bust your booty when loaded because you will wait until evening before you are loaded. So you need to arrive early get your rest and run hard when loaded might be 2400 or later before you get out. I have seen guys saying they had to wait for loads I can only think that they were picky about where they went or they didn't work the system.
