Don't know yet. it didn't download as an iso though. it downloads some small update file. then downloads the windows update. 2.6 gigs. when done it wants to restart.

I've had the laptop off till now.
I just spent 45 minutes strapping my load. laptop says GETTING READY.

I need to update my log so I can roll through the port and go home. waiting for the installation to finish.

going to be hard to judge as the installation was an upgrade. so i'll have a combo of 7 and 10 on the laptop.

i see msft has posted iso files on their websight now. so now we can do an actual installation of the preview.

scroll down this page to the download link. your also going to need the disc image burner software also posted on the page to be able to burn it to disc. unless you've got a program already. you'll need a blank dvd.

if your really savy, and have a iso to usb program already, you can actually install the windows 10 iso file to a usb thumb drive. and use that thumb drive as your disc installation tool instead of a dvd. my windows 7 resides on a usb drive. dvd's scratch up too easy and become unuseable.

it's called technical preview. and operates live.

it's the full fledged deal, only it comes with bugs to be worked out before actual release and runs on a timeframe. not specified this time but probably the usual 6 months.

the technical preview update was 2.6 gigs. the full iso was 3.6 gigs.
