It's a sorry state of affairs that anyone thinks that $32 an hour over 14 hours is good money....then you have to take the next 5 days off, and then pay tax an that and live on what is left over.
When you consider that union tradesmen are earning $40 an hour plus benefits and a good overtime rate for anything over 8 hours a day this "whopping " 32/hr for a 14 hr shift seems ridiculous.
Canada's immigration policies and TFW programs combined with Walmart will destroy our higher than normal standard of living sooner than you think.
Support union employees, support unions. Support companies that align themselves with union scale wages. If you will work for less, you become part of the problem.

This trend has taken on epidemic proportions in America as well. Anyone who doubts foreignors make up as much as 40% of USA truckers has their head in the sand.

No matter how you slice it 450 a day is decent. Go drive down the highway for mileage pay and see how much it gets you lol not saying it's the best pay but hey, the schedules decent and may suit someone.
I don't agree with comparing a truck driver to a trades person though. Those guys went to school and started out with a low payscale and worked there way up. It's kind of the same with most jobs. Go out and prove yourself and the pay will comeLicensed to kill Thanks this. -
I don't think it matters so much, if it was 8 or 900 a day someone would still have the stones to ##### about it.

Now I am not a seasoned veteran, but I'll bet that a seasoned veteran would see it the same as I do. Try and tell the seasoned veteran that his skills today are worth the same as a new guy's skills.Last edited: Oct 11, 2014
