I initially thought the OP had the radio in an International. That is the same radio I have in my Prostar (minus the upgrade to satellite radio).

That being said, for those who have this radio in a truck other than an International, does your truck have the up/down and forward/back button pod on the steering wheel? If not, I wonder if the radio control pod for the steering wheel can be purchased and added to a steering wheel. Once I got use to those buttons, I really like that particular pod.

Also, regarding the radio control steering wheel pod, does anyone know if that is proprietary (only works with that particular brand of radio) or is the plug from the pod to the radio a universal plug?

I have it in a Freightliner and nodda for the steering wheel controls.

Have have that in my Silverado PU at home. Only reason I never upgraded the stereo because I really liked the steering wheel controls.

I got a top of the line Kenwood with amps and a boom system for my wife's Mustang. Her stereo has a remote control. She told me that it was the most ridiculous thing to have in a car. A month later we're going down the road and she is fumbling between the seat and the console. I asked whats wrong? She said the remote fell down beside the seat. I LOL'd and said just reach and hit next track LOL. She gave me a scowling look. I thought it was the funniest thing.

Years ago I vaguely remember seeing an interior picture of a new KW and it had the steering wheel control for the radio. Thinking it was a T2000. I thought it was a good creature-comfort item but I never got a chance to try one.

A little over 2 years ago, I had to put my company Volvo in the shop for an extended period of time and the company gave me a Prostar to drive until my Volvo was fixed. That Prostar had the steering wheel controls. I only drove that truck for about 3 weeks and I hated that radio control pod.

Fast forward to about 6 months later when I got my new Prostar. It took some getting use to, but when I did, it turns out I like the stereo controls on the steering wheel. I actually like that particular stereo also. Considering purchasing one for my POV and hoping I can get a stereo control unit to go along with it.

I had a T660. It had steering wheel controls but not for the stereo. Cruise control and jake brake settings was pretty much it.

I rented a Pro Star for a week. I liked the dimmers and stereo on the wheel.. but felt like the buttons were pretty cheap and would wear out pretty easily. I could see a lot of older Pro Stars with messed up buttons.

My KW doesn't have the smart wheel option but I do have the remote, kind of nice if you want to listen to the stereo when your in the sleeper. Nothing good on TV, turn on the XM.

$9.95 plus tax and royalty fee for just music and Fox. Like $11.95 a month or $119 yr. Talk about jaded......I bought a lifetime script from XM. ( $400 ) They just forgot to tell me it's radio specific so when unit died so did script........

Call customer loyalty, you will get someone that is in the United States and speaks perfect English. I had a issue, called them and gave them the speech about having two radios and had been with them for so many years. They fixed the issue, gave me a $55 rebate and reset the one year free on my new Ram to start that day, equates to 3 months free.

Ouch,.. I would have been livid.

I had 3 devices registered. A portable that I could take from vehicle to vehicle. The one in here in my Columbia and the factory radio in my Silverado does XM/Sirrus.

My wife complained that she couldnt get the comedy channels,.. asked if I screwed with the settings. I said I would get it figured out when I got home. Couple days later she's PO'd that they took more money (We had it set up to pay for all 3 every 6 months.) She called them to find out what was up and they told her they raised their rates and the Comedy and news channels were now part of a separate package and had to pay an additional fee in order to get them back.

To me thats down and dirty business. Its not that I didnt enjoy the service. I liked it a lot. But an email, postal letter or txt to my phone would have been nice to give me fair warning of what they were planning to do. Not assume that I would readily agree to pay $10 or $15 more a month to have less then what I had before.

Screw em,.. I found Pandora confusing at first. Didnt like it. Figured I would give the pay version a try,.. now I like it better then Satellite. I guess I'm just getting old and dont like when things change. I like familiarity. When things up and change on me,.. I get stressed out. Even something as simple as what I use to listen to music with.

Does anyone know how to do a hard reset on this radio. I spoke with Sirius and they want me to take it to a dealer to do a hard reset. I don't know if I will even keep the radio. I want to see If I can get the satellite function to work. I will take if out to get the esn number when I get a chance. I was able to see the bottom but those are not the right numbers.
