Hi mark. Doesn't the 530 or 730 come with a wall charger? I know my 720 came with a wall charger.
Also when I got my 530 I charged it on the computer since I didn't have a wall charger all the way until the light turned green to get it ready for a trip after charging I turned it off for 2 days on the third day I turned it on and the battery was completely drained. Is this how it suppose to work do I need to keep it connected in the truck for me to use it?
I thought I can pre charge it and use it for a couple of hours before connecting it to the charger.
Just want to make sure that I do not have a defective unit.
Thank you. -
My 530 came with a car charger and a USB cord to plug into computer. Why would you need a wall charger for a vehicle based unit?
-
The charging on the computer will not supply enough current to charge the battery. It more of a bus power to just keep the unit alive while connected to the computer.
What I have found and I did put them in my house is now you can buy USB chargers build in as part of a Wall Outlet. They also have ones that plug into an existing outlet to provide a USB charging port. They do supply 2 amps. The 7" requires 2 amps.

I am using mine to charge my phone and I have not yet tried a TND. I have the ones that are a replacement for an actual electrical outlet.
If you leave it plugged into your truck, be aware that usually the DC outlets will shut down after x time for truck battery conservation.
Thanks,

220 polk avenue, nashville tn.
Rand mcnally wants you to visit the downtown region(not a fun place, and not the correct address), however the correct address is found when using google maps. Should be easy to verify. PS, this is on the 720(old maps)
That said, I heard mention of the 1st for maps. Have we heard anything back about that? -
Please see post 558 for the maps.
Thanks,
Mark -
Yeah I had saw 558, wasn't sure if that was before or after you asked. Just saw the post about the guy saying the 1st, so figured I would ask since I was tossing in the incorrect address part.
PS thanks
Perhaps another addition that makes it easier, another driver that drivers for the company at that address said the GPS's get it wrong due to the zip code or something like that. No idea how true it is, but I had an issue with another address in WI with the same situation(You had said you passed it along to be fixed), but that issue was a different zip code issue as well. So perhaps it's the same deal. -
If you input the address the TND does not look at the Zip Code. Let me know the address they are talking about.
Thanks,
Mark -
It's the 220 Polk Ave, I don't remember the wi one though, was in the last big tnd thread.
I did input the address, and a quick comparison vs Google maps quickly shows the roads around it are nowhere near the correct location.
