I like the ones that slow down then speed up when you pass.
no, it's not the terrain.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
I actually slow down to let people pass. Number one, common courtesy. Number 2, SAFETY. Especially on a 2 lane road. We are all out here together, working together is a hell of a lot easier than not, Ya know?

On two lane roads make passing easy for the guy who wants to go faster than you, its safer for every one.

Just out of curiosity, how are Prime's trucks equipped? And is the low MPG's normal in OTR fleets? Maybe it's the fact of how we're set up, I work for a regional medical supply warehouse, total of 9 drivers. All except two of our trucks are 2 axles we have a Penske leased fleet of 2014 Cascadias, Detroit DD13, 10 sp., licensed for 65,000. Our routes go from 180-390 miles each night. Our voted-on goal is 7 MPG, our average is closer to 7.5, and a couple of us have reached up to 8.4. I'll guess it's due to our lighter weight, even though Penske has dialed down our power.

I probably should have clarified a little... our manager is under the impression that our engines are running at 420 HP, but based on each driver's individual experience (minimum 10 years driving, I've got 21 in), we're guessing that they're dialed down to about 325 HP, but they're still governed at 76 MPH. Also, the reason we're guessing on the HP rating is because we do experience hilly terrain, and slow down quite a bit on the climbs, even though we haul fairly light (average 13,000 on a 40'-48', 17,000 on a set of 32's).

That is easy to determine, Penske can hook to the diagnostic port and instantly tell you where it is set.
JReding Thanks this.
