just heard a horrific truck crash in Stockton Ca this afternoon the poor driver went over the guard rail and crashed on the bottom below the freeway and passed away. Please be safe out there. Sending out my prayers to his family and friends.

Can anyone tell if you have to start out as a company driver with jct and if you do how long before you can switch to an ic. I'm considering jct and any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
-
JCT no longer hire company drivers. There are very very few left and they have been with JCT for a very long time.

Thanks MachoCyclone, once you submit an application how long does it take to hear back from someone?

Been running with JCT about a month now, haven't had a settlement less than 1k, I average 7.2 mpg running 68 mph on cruise and manual on all inclines, and doing the obligatory 55 in California, I buy cheap fuel in the Midwest, and top off before I get out west and avoid fueling in Cali or Arizona. It's a simple system that works for me, I get my miles, and enjoy my down time, as for waiting to be loaded yeah, it's happened a couple times, but always on a lengthy load so I didn't mind, and because of how I run I usually have a day with low recap hours because of that waiting, but it all works out, and the late load request keeps everything in balance. I only fuel at Flying J or Pilot. I'm just not going to over think this, I know my breakeven, and I know what I want after taxes, and to date I'm pleased, and at this rate I'll retire from here having bought a few trucks. It's just not difficult, can be confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple. As for swapping a load, happend only once because I was running short of hours and cutting it close for a Tyson delivery, but a swap is not something I look forward to unless I'm running extremely early with hours. With that being said, I'm a happy camper, and looking forward to going home to Denver this weekend.
My experience with the office staff has been pleasant, they are the most helpful and nicest people. So anyone looking to come here, just know, we have one rule, be safe, BUT BE ON TIME. There's no good excuse for being late, if your alive.(and the roads open)
Everyone be safe 🚚💨💨👋✌ Keep truckin'
As for how long the application process takes, 2-3 business days.Mr. Mister and unloader Thank this. -
Love how the planner was ok with me picking up this load late due to truck breaking down, but I all my check calls are ignored yesterday and today that I won't make Monday 0215 in Tracy, CA. Couldn't even get someone on the phone. I highly doubt McClain is gonna take me in at 10am. And I will probably be blamed for this too even though I did what I was suppose to do.

Does Stile still run for JCT? He used to post on here often but haven't heard from him in a while.
Macho I hope that you do not get blamed for something that is not your fault. Hope you have some way to prove your innocence. -
popcorn169 and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

Hey thanks damonarnold816 that's encouraging. I guess I'll give them a call in the morning. Out of curiosity what's the frequency getting a load to Florida?
damonarnold816 Thanks this.
