My numbers are based on fuel quantity added at fill up. I rarely idle, unless its hotter outside than a Vegas ##### on dollar night. No APU yet, might be adding one come February/March.

99 379- Exhd , 475 hp cat (2ws), 10 speed, 3.90 rears and 24.5 tall rubber. 1,843,252 miles on truck.
pull about 80% oversize and run 58-63. Weights are almost always over 70,000 gross and under 80,000.
Lifetime average is 6.39
rebuilt motor in August
6.96 is the 90day average
7.0 is the 60 day
7.44 is the 30 day.
All of mine are fill up to fill up. You can see it on fuelgauges under my same user name. I don't run empty enough to know. -
'07 T600, C-15 ACERT MXS 475, 13-sp, 3.25 axles, lopro 22.5 Fuel efficient . Pulling a reefer with loads anywhere from 10-44k. Last quarter IFTA was 6.4 mpg, mainly running between Atlanta and PA. Sometimes up I-81 to Allentown, other times up I-77 thru WV toward Pittsburgh. So a few hills.
Averages depending on terrain, bobtail I've seen 9.5 - 11. Empty trailer 7 - 8.5. Fully loaded to 80k 5.7 - 6.6. -
I think the mxs and nxs probably have better mpg than bxs.

Any opinions on the maxxforce ? This lone star is avg 7 mpg between fillups with mixed weights in box. Usually heavy loads are 40,000-45,000 still avg 6.5 on those trips. Just had to back to back light loads (under 30,000) and avg 7.5. This motor's secret I think is the torque comes in around 1100-1200 so the boost is more instant.

Maxxforce sucks. it is the same thing as acert with dpf. 13L is like c-13.

I will say this maxxforce trumps the dd15 I had. Especially on hills I like the max better. Plus it doesn't require def .

Too bad they had to make with DEF after 2013. My friend had it and it only lasted for 200k miles before breakdown.

Also have a friend that works at the county highway department where they are to cheap to buy a quality piece of equipment and they end up buying Internationals and spend huge amounts of money on repairs because of the engines International has. Constants engine issues, yes they are in warranty for a couple of years but after warranty expires and you keep having engine issues it isn't worth it.russtrucker Thanks this. -
I observed better and more consistent MPG in the T660 pulling a 53' reefer. The other was a 386 that I pulled 4 different flat beds from 48 - 53 footers.
The one thing that the 386 and my Columbia share is that wind and terrain have a larger impact on MPG then the T660 pulling a reefer.
Aerodynamics over the course of say 1000 - 2000 miles will have a larger impact on MPG than many people realize. Where flatbed, how you load your trailer (Heavier on the front or heavier on the rear), type of load, aerodynamics of the load and terrain have a bit more impact then a reefer or box that would be loaded with similar weight. Weight only seems to come into play when there are long hills. Else on level ground weight doesnt seem to be that important other then its impact on wear and tear of the truck.
I have gotten my BXS motor MPG close to what I experienced with the later C15's. The difference is about .5 mpg average in favor of the newer motors.
