Sitting in areas waiting for freight. Supposedly, there is a truck shortage but, sitting in Dallas/Fort Worth trying to find freight, or anywhere for that matter. Should be able to find something to haul where I need to go or want to go for a reasonable rate.

Medical Cards; the States DMV, when a driver renew their CDL they must present a valid medical card. Normally medical cards expire within two years. The States DMV, will suspend the CDL if the driver doesn't turn in a copy of the medical card when the old medical card expires, regardless of a clean driving record or the length of time remaining on the face of the CDL.

This is a problem when Over the Road drivers whom are rarely home during the year. And lost medical cards or improprly submitted forms can become an issue for abusive practice by a State to increase revenue.

Verifying Medical Cards should be the Carrier responsibility as well as the Law Officer whom is preforming a driver/vehicle inspection. Its the Carrier that sets up a renewal physicals or their driver can not drive.

Having to brush my teeth next to three guys washing their hands while three more guys are taking a huge malodorous dump at the truck stop.

thats just one of many. I have no particular love for this job, in fact most days I hate it. But the money and benefits are good and the well being of my family takes precedence over my personal job-satisfaction. Hammer down.

Things I dislike about this job and in no particular order:

being away from home for four nights
Being home for only three nights

The utter selfishness of everyone on the road
The amount of lying that pervades the industry as a whole.

Trailers that are dropped too high
Trailers that are dropped too close to another
Fellow drivers that don't do their expected job

    Seeing other drivers tailgate four-wheelers
People who can't maintain a steady constant speed

Yeah I brush my teeth in the truck. Some things I hate I can change but waiting, can't change that. Hurry and get tthere to sit and wait. Then wait for a load then wait to get loaded then after waiting all day hurry up and get there by morning. Common courtesy among drivers seems to be a thing of the past too. More 4 wheelers flash their lights than trucks. I could ##### on but I do like my job. Really.
