Millis Payscale, WTF!?

they give you options they do not try to force one or the other when you go through orientation you are given the option and its up to the individual on what they take and no you don,t have to stay with the same option if what you take don,t work you can switch

 

Millis fuels at Love's, Pilot/Flying J, TA, they do not route or tell you when or how much to fuel. We are on e logs. Pretty much as long as you get to the customer on time, drive safely, and don't do anything stupid, they leave you alone. I've spoke to my dispatcher ms the three or four times on the phone this year. He sends loads, I deliver them, no one ever bothers me. Many trucks do have cameras, facing front and at the driver. I don't do anything wrong so they don't bother me. Some are very, let's say, passionate about how they feel about the cameras. I rarely sit very long waiting for loads, but this is trucking and it does happen on occasion. I like it here....

I've always heard the only reason companies want you to take per diem is for the comapny's benefit only.

Per diem allows the company to pay less for workers comp. and unemployment.

I wouldn't take per diem.

Anytime a company pushes anything as hard as Millis pushes per diem, that should be your first clue that Millis benefits heavily from it. If the company benefits, it's usually a loss to the employee.

 

They don't currently route you but sent a qcomm message few months back letting us know that's something they're looking into. They're testing the software now.

There's no such thing as proving yourself at Millis. They'll fire you regardless of length of time or how well your work record is. They treat all drivers as if they're new.

I spoke with Reid Ransom, director of personnel one day. He told me I had a great record with Millis.

Less than a week later, Dan is on the phone with me, talking like I just shook a baby so much that the baby will be bed ridden and on a feeding tube for the rest of its life. From the way he spoke to me, I was convinced he was going to fire me.

Why, because he was watching me on the camera and saw I was reading a map while driving. I should have pulled over. Seems odd that he would talk down to me for that, when it was a Millis who was recently charged with shaking an 18 month old baby "shaken baby syndrome".

Micro-managing is overwhelming at Millis. I earlier posted that they watch you on the cameras for hours a day, and discovered that drivers are using only one hand on the wheel.

This was a shock to them since only one of the owners or managers has ever driven a truck and he's reportedly such a drunkard and drug addict that even Millis won't let him drive their trucks (yes it's Mike Millis, the guy who oversees training. They put the (reportedly) drunkest and most drugged out in charge of training. That'll look good during a lawsuit).

So Millis sent us a qcomm message describing in detail how we need to hold the wheel one handed.

They'll send messages telling you that: "Yesterday at 13:45 it looks like you might have been a little too close to that red mazda".

"Yesterday at 07:42 you took both hands off your steering wheel for 3 seconds while while scratching your neck."

Once I was using a small 10 pound dumbell I use to stay alert. The camera was on for over 2 hours at the time. I then get a message telling me not to use the dumbbell while driving. Keep in mind that Millis denies that they can watch and hear us unless there's a critical event, at which time the video is sent to a company to review before they send the video to Millis. They sent me the message as I was using the dumbbell.

 

I would be kind enough to show them that they're #1 if you know what I mean.....

 

Best way to do this is...leave.

 

I will not ever work for anyone who puts a camera facing me...I don't care if it faces out for protection...
