After reading some more, I can download CoPilot Premium USA for Android phone for $9.99. With that, you get free Active Traffic for 12 months.
Active Traffic may give me the best traffic/accident information out there. That is what I want. Thanks for everyone's help. -

as a frequent flyer of the los angeles, sacramento, phoenix, denver areas. active traffic as has been just as accurate as google maps.
it's also been just as reliable as google maps. neither one of them are perfect. both have been known to skip a beat once in a blue moon. -

Inrex was spun off from microsoft. Copilot's active traffic also uses INREX's app.
- Where does ActiveTraffic get its information?CoPilot Live has teamed up with INRIX,

The Garmin traffic does give you a heads up on slow traffic ahead. It'll give you more of a warning to stopped traffic ahead, than all the trucks you see coming towards you.
