I really hope tommorow I did 1k in revenue last tuesday but i also filled up on fuel so i have 3/4 tank and im sitting around 800 in the red. I'd like to squeeze a load in tomorrow or at least get one started. I tried assigning loads but i think my nat is jacked up so i get the no feasible solution error. Either that or the computer kicked me on duty i completely forgot to log off.

Jan 5...orientation in Charlotte. 2015 Evo, 10 speed. White. Finalized my decision the same day Crete announced we are getting another 2cpm increase, which as of Feb would put me at .49. But the flexibility and the challenge of self-management is appealing to me, and as long as I can realize a taxable income of 60k, I'm good.

Im planning on working very similarly to my current situation, that is being out 21 to 28 days, but adding some 34s at home when possible.

If anyone believes 60k is not a reasonable expectation, please let me know. I keep hearing an "average" of 50k, which will not do. But everyone here seems to be doing much better, once they get past that proverbial learning curve we hear about.

Again, thanks for all your information! Happy Thanksgiving, and stay safe!

Good luck Packard. If you want to make $60k, you certainly can. Remember "average" is a very easy standard to beat. You can make considerably higher than $60 if you work hard and smart. If you have some energy and dedication, you'll be happy.

I am very happy with the move I made.

PS. It's not for the slow, lazy person that thinks everyone else is the problem but themselves.

Having looked into this since seemingly the 1970s, I thought that "average" sounded low, at least when applied to the type of driver I think of when thinking in this arena. I'm sure there are some who, for whatever reason, choose not to work as hard, but I've still got too much going on! I don't have a retirement income from a previous career, as I'm sure some do, and that could skew the numbers. I'll be out 300 days a year...just gonna try to see family and friends more often. Ain't no one gettin' any younger, and that is a huge part of my motivation.

Just know your numbers. Costs per mile, cost per real time, etc. This info will be needed to assist you in the load planning process and help you make the best decisions.
Your success happens at the load board. The rest is just follow thru.
