No johnson bar is another name for the trolley brake. She's correct and so are you. Same name for two different things.
About to go solo ,how do I check the brake lights?

If you knew it was your hand control valve malfunctioning and you simply wrote it up as "Trailer brakes malfunctioning", it would be an inadequate description. We can debate whether the valve should be called a trolley brake or even a johnson bar, but calling that single component of the system "trailer brakes" is wrong. -
Right.. but still known as trailer brakes .. lever.. arm ... on the steering column
etc ect

You do realize that a part can have more than one name? A name can also be used for mare than one part.
Go do a google search for "johnson bar" and the first hit id the trailer brake lever. After that there are 100's of places to buy the flatbed tiedown one.

What kind of dumb question is that ,you obviously have a pair of eyes in your head the mornings are dark now press the brake pedal and look in your mirrors , if you can't grasp that slide your seat forward and get your tyre thumper wedge it against the seat and brake pedal and then get out and look .
