**Beware New Recruits of Jordan Carriers**

I know, that's the point. I don't want to risk it being that my whole career is on the line here. This is why I said I'm not comfortable with submitting to a hair follicle test just yet. However, I have to get away from Western ASAP! Western Express is a joke, and I am completely miserable there! I've talked to drivers from Jordan Carriers who seem to be very happy working there, I've been in contact with a recruiter who is wanting me to come to orientation on Monday, the 15th of this month. This is why I simply need to know what kind of drug testing procedures Jordan is doing?!?! If they are just doing urine testing, then I'm good to go. However, if they are doing hair follicle testing, I will need at least another four months clean under my belt before I would feel comfortable submitting to hair follicle test. Therefor, if I find out for sure that Jordan is doing hair tests, I will need to either look into other companies, or grit my teeth and try to stick it out with Western for a few more months.

 

If you're worried about the hair follicle and are already driving, I have to question when the last time you used was.

 

You reap what you sow...drugs are still illegal by federal law and most employers drug test. I used to smoke pot habitually...then I grew up and got a real job. I don't think it's a huge deal, but you gotta deal with the consequences of your choices bud.

 

What are you talking about? No need in being hateful!!! If you had read my earlier post you would have seen that I to have grown up and decided that a career was more important that smoking pot, therefor I quit smoking when I started my driving career with Western about 8 months ago. Furthermore, I do take my career seriously! I understand that ALL real emplyers drug test, and again if you would've read my earlier post you would've seen that for the first time in my life I actually look forward to my employer giving me a random urine test simply because I can take one with a smile on my face at ANY given time.... and I'm pretty proud of that! I've came a long way in turning my life around and getting on the right track, but I'm miserable and Western Express! They treat their drivers like crap, and I can't take it there anymore! They've had me so upset that I've felt like crying like a little girl the last couple weeks! I just haven't been clean long enough yet that I feel comfortable risking my whole career on a hair follicle test just yet. I was trying to stick it out with Western long enough to where I could for sure pass a hair test, that way I could go with any company I wanted to. But I just can't take it there anymore! I've got to get away from there immediately! Looking to start orientation with Jordan Carriers on the 15th, so I simply need to know if they do hair test or just urine test? If anyone knows the answer to that question and could simply answer that question without giving me crap about reaping what I sow, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Please go back and read my earlier post where I admitted that I've made bad choices in my life, and I've learned from every one of them and am trying my best to get past it, move on and build a good life!!! So again, I really don't need to hear crap about my choices, I just need a simple question answered.... thanks!!!!

 

Hey Junkie, I wasn't hating on you at all...I've made choices I'm not proud of either, like I said. But you gotta deal with the outcome no matter what. What I meant was you may have to be stuck for awhile longer until you know you can be 100% CLEAN. Then you will have a lot more options, especially if you already have some experience with another carrier. Good luck!

 

If it's been 8 months, I'm assuming you're clear. We've argued here how long the hair follicle goes back. If it's been truly been 8 months then you don't have to worry about it any longer.

 

The OP said Jordan likes to hire 15 drivers for 7 trucks, which means they'll nit-pick to disqualify drivers, which could upend careers. I could see hair testing for drugs being done if that's true.

 

hey junkie,just call em up and ask..if it is a hair test forget about how much better of a company it is..you wont be working for em anyway..

 

Id like to know the outcome of this story, Have you been getting regular hair cuts? are you taking vitamins? if you have not cut your hair since you quit smoking then there is a good chance you will pop, some say 6 months others say 1 year, a lot depends on your metabolism and just how much the company wants to spend to test.
