    Congrats on your Oct baby.

looks like this thread may have died. Was hoping to hear how you guys were doing now at winter is here. Off to orientation soon and am just hoping that there is still a little money to be made in the slow season.

Yep, still here and doing well. I took a UPS package out of Philadelphia for December so I havent had to run off the board. I still look so I can see whats out here. December looks good, still decent freight and rate. Ive seen a number of loads for January already posted. So I think its going to be ok. Im doing $2.01 all miles since June with 11% deadhead. I will finish off this year with just over $100,000 gross in 6 months. I didnt really even run that hard.

Good to hear. TBH I've been getting a little bit of cold feet knowing that I'm making my move at the start of the dead season. But I have some savings and I tell myself it should give me a chance to learn the mercer system. Thanks.

look at it this way, you wwill still do ok during the dead season and then when spring gets here you will know the system and do really well, in the 4 years I have been here, January has been my highest revenue month the last 3 years.

Lol in that case I'm just going to follow you around for January. ;p it looks like rates are still on the rise, and with many drivers taking so much time off during this season, I really can't see me doing worse then breaking even. And like you said, come spring I'll have an idea of the system and I believe that will pay off in the long run. For now I think I'll try and chase some storms.

I've joined 6/11 this year and have grossed $125k so far..
And after this week and the next I will be up north of 132... #####! IRS gonna fry my ash in February lol

I must add I didnt run hard, but not easy and my former truck kept me from 3 weeks of income plus the preprogrammed loads I lost on top of that..

Ok I've officially moved my orientation date to 12/29. I'm going to cut my Xmas time off down a hair and get this new path started. 29th seems like a perfect time for me. Won't get under a load with mercer until the new year and that should make taxes a little easier next year. If any of you are in Mercertown during that week I would love to buy you lunch and pick your brains a bit. Now to go buy me a mega cup for that Koolaid.

Well CJ I'll keep you posted as I start on Monday. All these threads and info that the guys give on here has convinced me. There are no guarantees but I think I'm making a good choice.

Starting orientation on the 29th? Be aware you are almost certainly going to be sitting in Louisville a full week. You won't be cleared till Wednesday morning (the 31st). Most of our agents, and quite a few coordinators will be home by noon. Same for shippers. Obviously, EVERY shipper is closed on the first, and a good portion won't be open on Friday. This all adds up to it being Monday the fifth before you have a legitimate chance of loading.
