I am so sick of hearing that truck drivers will be driving for 82 hours a week if congress reverts back to the old HOS rules by taking out the two 1am to 5am requirement....The Fricking media should get the facts straight about the HOS.....When have we ever been able to drive for 82 hours in a week????

IF you have never been behind the wheel of a truck to see what goes on out here day after day, THEN How can you pass laws concerning what happens in the trucking world?? So tired of the misinformed Media

    pete1 and Skydivedavec Thank this.

i'm tired of hearing about how the trucks need sleep.

i mean, we get up, we go to bed. just like the rest of the world. with a day off. just like the rest of the world.

Very sensitive political issue since the Tracy Morgan accident. Everyone inside the industry understand how the 34 restart originally worked, it was CRASH and Daphnie Izer's PATT that put out the misinformation campaign about tge 82 hours, which is true but rarely practiced.
Thats how government works these days. Attach this financial limitation to the rule, don't out right repeal it. Then put it in a must pass bill to keep the Federal government from running out of money.
You have to remember that congress ( the people we vote for, our only minor chance at control) don't vote on 90% of the regulations that impact this and other industries. It is all hatched by unelected faceless bureaucrats run amok.

After the president signs it the FMCSA has to post a notice to the Federal Register. No idea how long that will take.

    Skydivedavec Thanks this.
