New Oregon superload restrictions, ON DRIVERS!

    I searched and couldn't find where this has been brought up, so here you go.
    I stumbled across this on Oregon's web page couple weeks ago. Made "note to self" to check it out later, and forgot. Hell to get old :).
    Luckily it was printed on most recent Oregon permit.
    Will they start running license's at scale, possibly shut you down?
    This was just enacted this October.

    14' wide on two lane is considered super load. Gonna affect quite a few drivers.
    Pretty darn strict, considering what we do, IMO.
    Guess there's no driver shortage in Oregon.
    Can we start charging more!?!?
    Are there any other states that have tightened up there requirements recently?

    I believe so. Offer and demand. More restrictions means less available drivers, means more money to pay for those drivers.

    I actually don't see this regulation as having tremendous impact. Even being 23 years old, I would still qualify to move super-loads in Oregon per their new regulations.

    Granted, I also can't say I know the demographics of O/D drivers in Oregon, but, generally speaking, it's not the domain of younger drivers.

    Your right, you could meet qualifications.
    Part bothers me is, one moving violation, any state, in one year.
    One accident any state, last two years.
    Not being able to pass thru Oregon, or your company not being able to send you in that direction will be money out of someone's pocket.
    i have 25+ yr no tickets no accidents, (knocking on wood). Sure would suck if my number came up and I live up in this area pulling supers all the time. Pretty harsh. I'm jus sayin.

    Yeah, have to agree, it's a very fine window.
    I have a clean record as well, but it wouldn't be hard to rack up more than one moving violation, any state, in one week, let alone one year, if we all are truly honest with ourselves. A little run of bad luck & you're out...

    Well can't say I'm surprised, have we all taken a look around and we all have seen the quality of drivers as of lately! While I have to agree a bit harsh and yea we all can have one of those weeks that everything can go down hill fast. I'm kind of glad to see someone pushing for some type of standard in the OD world!
