Schneider all the way great terminals with all the ammeneties I graduated from Schneiders academy in 2007 in green bay as did my wife there's a reason there the largest family owned carrier ol Donnie Schneider knew what it was like to be a driver in my opinion great company to drive for and they keep there equipment up as Werner doesn't. I was a wrench at a Werner terminal for gra gar as I saw it first hand.

I would suggest Crete. They pay good, but you will have to put up with crap. You have to put up with crap at every company, but least at crete you'll get better pay.
You can't learn how to be a contractor or owner op in 6 to 12 months unless you're way above the curve on learning quickly.
You're second option is to not work at all and collect welfare. You'll actually make more money getting welfare than you'll earn at Werner, US Xpress, England, and Swift.freightwipper and Moon_beam Thank this. -
Honestly have you seen what Schneider's trailers look like? OLd and beat up. Schneider isn't the largest by the way. -
(says me in my 2002 Columbia...)

Appreciate all the replies, and I hear where you're coming from. But I just need to get started somewhere and put my 6-12 months in so other opportunities will open up. If I could relocate to a better hiring area I would, but I'm sort of stuck where I am for at least the next 6 months.
So I'm still flip flopping between Werner and Schneider, and glad at least I have those two prospects. Still looking and applying, but so far those are my only options and will be starting with one of the two in the first week of January if nothing else opens up. -
Crete is difficult to get on with but if you qualify you will have a solid paycheck and good equipment. Was happy with my training, but at the time I was not.

Easily Schneider of those two choices. A shorter training period might be a con but you will actually be getting trained in that period. The companies that like to do months long training don't actually do much training if any. You drive while your trainer sleeps and the company gets a cheap team truck. There's no benefit to the longer so called "training" period.
wilburleft Thanks this. -
