Reminds me of a Dennis the Menace cartoon I say a long time ago. His mother is holding a broken toy and Dennis replies, I know it's good for nothing and I'm keeping it till it's good for something! That's my mentality. There's been lots of times where those extra parts, nuts, bolts, misc. hardware saved me from having to make yet another trip to the hardware or parts store. Of course, if the clock says the store I need is closed, chances I'll have what I need laying around are slim to none. But, Murphys' Law has always been a constant for me!

How clean do I keep my shop? I'm not saying I'm a pack rat that never throws away anything no matter how unlikely I'll ever need it, but this summer I rebuilt my detroit outside cause it would of taken a week to make enough room in the shop to pull the truck in. It's ridiculous, I've got three full sets of injectors for a 318 Detroit. It's real likely I'm gonna use those ain't it! Probably thirty old batteries in case I need a core. Same with brake shoes. A few old clutches. Two transmissions. A complete running 290 cummins. And even the beast, a 12v Detroit. Dozens of old alternatives, starters. A 454 Chevy with maybe ten hours on it. Couple Muncie transmissions. On and on the list goes.

Most this stuff was my dad's, and I just can't get rid of it. Every time I try to I end up having a few drinks and a good long cry.

All that counts is if you know where it is or the general location of everything. And thats one nice 359.

Good thinking on the strap for that tire on the rack! I'd have put the strap up after it fell on something of value...

Considering I'm very OCD and anal about many things, the storage trailer (our shop till I get one built down the road) gets stripped once a year, organized with labels on every shelf, then slowly becomes unbearable.
