I drove solo for 3 months yes it was more work more planning more head aches lol. I prefer teaming it was so much easier as long as you are compatable with your co-driver haha.

It's my son...he's a slob, he hates getting up and takes no initiative...drives me nuts! He also does everything I ask of him and can knock out some miles at night. It works for us!

lol sometimes you have to over lQQk the little things. I leased a truck for 2 years with my oldest son. I am so glad it worked for us at the time. If we were in a disagreement one of us would get up and close the iron curtain to the back bunk for some quiet time lol. Who ever was driving was in charge...for safety reason (ha ha) and we helped each other. It was a good experience and we both learned a lot.

well, back when I started there, it was fall of '95 and back then they did have a cdl class, but it was a measly 2 weeks for those who came in without a cdl. mine was the advanced class, which was 1 week, and it was pretty much nothing more than and accelerated refresher of the 10 week driving school I went through, and even then they didn't teach anything that was new to me except for a spin on their "skid pad" which I had back then. when I made that statement that was assuming they still had the cdl course.

Yea maybe I am loco...I didn't have that problem. To each his own. We didn't tell each other what to do or when to stop. We both knew how much time we had to get the load there and it didn't bother me if I drove more miles than my co-driver or vise versa. It wasn't a competition. And we planned our shower stops so we knew when we were taking one.

before you leap talk to some drivers and do your research... Very stressful job trucks aren't welcome nowhere in this country anymore plus we have that bullseye painted on us by law enforcement. I wish I could go back to warehouse work but everything here closed and left I would have to sell my place and move to find a job and have been seriously thinking about it!!!
