Well I didn't have any luck getting a load out of the place I wanted to get a load out of. They must be closed until after the new years. I should have just stayed home until then lol. But I went ahead and booked a 2-stopper live load heading back to NC. Good news is one stop is on one side of the building and the second stop is on the other side. Bad news is I can't pick it up until tomorrow and I'm sitting only a few miles from there now. Already tried calling in but nope no go CS told me.
mickimause Thanks this. -
if you are only a few miles away I would just show up and hope for the best worst did they tell you know we can't load you and you have to drive back a few miles to park again I wouldn't worry about customer service I go straight to the customer
QuietStorm and skyviper73 Thank this. -

Getting loaded now then headed for the delivery in NC and will be at the Charlotte OC for the night. Then another live load in the morning and off to VA again. Doing live loads and driving during the day - help I think something is wrong with me.
Still passing up on some of the better runs to stay close to home in case I need to fix something on the truck. So far so good though.
Which one of you got the $22.90/mile relay that picked up out of the high point yard today? LOL I wanted that so bad but it didn't work with my schedule. Was it you RB? -

Well I finally got out of South Hill, VA today. I will not go back there again. Customer was Jones Apparel or something like that. Took forever to load. Spent half the day there. Lot is stupid tight. I luck out and get an open spot with room on each side to back in with the S.S. Wheelbase. Then JB comes in and about removes my hood. After he about removes my hood and his own hood on the guard rail several times I tell him to hold on and I unhook from my trailer so he can get in next to me. Then I hook back up. With the backs of our trailers both at the dock, when I look out my passenger window from the drivers seat I can just barely see the front of his windshield. LOL. So I take a nap. Then I wake up as Wal-Mart is trying to remove my hood as well. I get out and offer to unhook for him but he just backs in like 3 dock doors over and tells the guy at the dock that he's just going to park there. You go Wal-Mart. Finally get called in and sit there for 15 minutes while this guy does everything but fill out my bills and I get out of there.
Take off for the Wal-Mart cross-dock in Concord and deliver there. Werner is doing God-knows-what trying to turn around. Spend 5 minutes waiting for him to realize that he cannot u-turn in that part of the lot without removing his fairings. Finally he gets out of my way. Get this trailer dropped. Then go look for an empty. Only empty is in the very back lot. Unfortunately I'm too long to u-turn to get it out, but I also can't make the left turn around the building without driving in the ditch or hitting the JB trailer. Spend a few minutes doing the back and fourth inchworm working the trailer over a little each time so I can make the left turn. Finally get out of that ****hole and got to the Charlotte OC. Shower, cheeseburger, all good. Live load in the morning then back to VA. I dunno what I'm going to do after I deliver this load. Maybe just sit at the truckstop again for a day. Exciting way to spend new years, but who cares. Don't really want to deadhead home. -
Your package has at least arrived IN your town. tracking still says on time for friday by end of day.

Easy run back up to VA. Pain in the butt place to pick up from in Charlotte. It was a drop and hook instead of live, which was good, but it was an absolute cluster**** trying to get the empty trailer dropped.
Got out of there and cruised on up to the delivery in VA. At the truckstop now. Looks like I'll be ringing in the new year here. Oh well. Can't find any loads out that I want. There was one load that I could pick up, but it involves taking the I-64 torture test across VA and WV and the load weights are never accurate from this shipper. Not ready to give the KW that much of a workout yet. Still taking it easy during the "old truck break in" period. That's a nasty drive.
Doubt many places will be open tomorrow so looks like a repeat of a few days ago, chilling out at the truckstop. Maybe I will get lucky and a relay will pop up out of the Norfolk yard or something. My Carlisle load is showing back up again, looks like KC is back in business after the Christmas-time holidays. I was tempted to go home, but the earliest those leave out is the 6th, and I don't want to sit until then.
Happy New Year everyone!88 Alpha, mickimause, stevep1977 and 1 other person Thank this. -
