My slip seat driver recently quit, I'm thinking about taking his place on the day shift running pump loads. I'll make a lot more money doing that.

On a side note, I really wish our company had owner ops, that fire to own my own rig still burns with great fury inside me haha

Now that I got a taste for nights it would be hard to go back plus they pay us more for it. I still get the bug myself sometimes but then I remember I live in California lol.

I'd make about an extra $200/week if I were to go become a pump driver. Even with losing night pay by going to days I'd make more than I do now. I'm still playing with the idea.

Yeah cali isn't a good place to start out as an owner op I imagine lol

Good for you DrtyDiesel! I drove a heating oil straight truck for a few months some time ago. I never got used to the tank surge at stop lights and such. My first time on ice was another story by itself............darn truck wanted to keep inching forward after I set the brakes. I was wondering if it would ever stop. :biggrin_25523: I have a lot of respect for you folks who do it in a semi.

Thanks! Luckily in florida we don't have to deal with ice too often. I'm not sure if I'd want to do this in the north haha

Yeah I ran 12 hours and did 4 loads while my slip seat driver ran 8 hours, 3 loads and made about $30 more that day than I did. Not all my loads would be pump loads but some would. And when you have a pump load split with another pump that's $55 in accessory pay added on top of what the load pays. So you can rack up money left and right

    Bigdaddy00 and Drew352 Thank this.
