Walmart here I come!

I was wondering the same thing, but I'm not surfing 234 pages to find the answer..



Do the Florida DC's ever hire does anyone know or is there a transfer list they are choosing from instead ??
I'm guessing the Florida transfer waiting list is a long one ??

 

The mentor is there to show you everything that is involved with doing the job. He is not there to show you or judge your driving - Walmart has already made that decision. He's there to show you the QUALCOMM system and how dispatch works, how logging works and to give pointers on getting in and out of stores, little things to look for, the difference between the grocery and GM sides, etc. There are certain things you have to do at the beginning of trips that have to be loaded into the computer, certain inputs that the driver must make during his trips and end of trip items. The procedures for fueling, washing the trucks, again, everything that has to do with the job. I didn't list everything here, just a general answer.

 

Ft. Pierce was just on drive4walmart within the last 2 months for new hires. I was in Alachua at the DC the day before new years and they had signs up looking for transfers. If not enough transfers happen, they will look for new hires.

Trying to decide now if I should apply up here in the dreaded northeast where they would appear to do a lot of hiring and then transfer *if* they hire me, or wait for a Florida opening..

Then again they may look at my outlaw past and say thanks but no thanks..My record is clean but I haven't exactly run for law abiding outfits in my time doing this..

anyone knows when you transfer do you lose senioraty

 

Yep, for 6 months - then you go back to your seniority date on the board.

 

Trust me, it's the best decision I've made in my 27 years of driving!!! You will be hard pressed to find a reason that this is a bad move!!
