Congrats Andrew! Welcome aboard!
Make sure you don't leave any blanks as well on your application. Call the number ninetofive gave you and they should be able to help you out if you might have missed something.andrew1978 and noninetofive Thank this. -
Hey Andrew, Hearty Congrats on being a new Buckeye driver !!! If you see Rick, say Hi. He reads everything here, but only posts through me, anymore (long story), for the most part.
andrew1978 and noninetofive Thank this. -
Omigosh -- he had his phoner Monday 11:00. The interviewer told him they would be contacting him within 7-10 days to make an appointment to come to New Hampshire and tour the facility, do a pre-trip, driving test, etc !!!
While he was out of his truck later in the afternoon, he missed a 4:45 p.m. phone call -- it was HR !!! He tried to return the call, but the woman he was supposed to talk to had already gone home for the day. I'm sure they'll catch up to each other sometime today
I'm so excited and thrilled for him -- he soooooooooo wants this. They guy has paid his dues bigtime, and I feel like it's his turn now.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
When Rick was waiting for his call, he wasn't nervous about it all. I was nervous as a cat, but he told me that he knew it would come. After all, he said, it was our turn.
He was right.Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
Thanks, Gloria -- sounds like us, LOL -- he's calm/cool (outwardly, at least) and I'm a wreck!!! I know there's still a chance that he won't make it, but we are optimistic and viewing it as a done deal.
Right now I am researching food sealers -- I think that's gonna be the best way to deal with feeding him OTR. I read in the "Cooking in the Truck" thread that one gal (can't remember her name) cooks stuff, vacuum seals it and either refrigerates it briefly before her trip, or freezes it for longer term storage. Then she sticks it in the cooler in her truck and it remains good and tasty for her entire time out. I don't know how long she is out, but longer than the Walmart guys, I believe.WallyWife Thanks this. -
Well, he talked to HR today -- ***PRE-TRIP & DRIVING TEST MONDAY*** !!!
Before they ended their conversation, she told Brian to put out the word that they are looking to fill six (6) more spots in New Hampshire!!!
Do you think that he should shave off his beard???Last edited: Jan 13, 2015

Na. As long as it isn't nasty looking, he can leave it. Some guys have small beards like myself and then I have seen drivers with duck dynasts beards.
Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
Thanks, Matt!!! He has a full mustache and beard, which is about 1/2 inch long. He is (was) a redhead, but now it's all mostly grey.

My pre trip is next Wed (21st) in Lagrange. Any pointers about that DC. I've been working for another private fleet for 5 years ( TYSON) and I'm ready to move to the next level...
