check it out - new equipment

I was told by a few people resale on Great Dane, Utility, and Stoughton was always a given - they'd fetch top dollar. Never pulled any Stoughtons. Always liked Utility because the ones I pulled were always super light weight. But don't think they are made as well as a Dane. Look at these pics of my old Utility versus the Dane:

The stainless edge just above the ICC bumper got bent downwards several months ago at a shipper. The bumper is not mounted under the lip like with a Dane so it's not as sturdy. The shipper had one of those plates they lifted into the trailer on an outdoor concrete loading ramp. The lips underneath the dock plate (to keep it from sliding back and forth when entering/exiting trailer during loading) landed on top of that stainless edge and when the forklift drove over down it bent.



Dane is much better design I don't think it will ever get bent out of shape.

Yeah I am wussing out with the tandems up short. It's because of where I park my unit on the weekend. It's a tight spin around, unless I back off the street to park which can be busy at times, so it's best to have them always shortened up for the spin around. They actually aren't as short as they could be there's another hole or 2 I think. It's loaded that's where I set them.
