Not sure if you're going that way, but between Boise and Baker City, they've been having ice and ice fog issues over the last week or so. In the 'accidents' section of the forum there have been many multiple vehicle wrecks reported.

Yeah I saw those news reports and videos. I generally go through the back roads and stop at Winnemucca the first night and then through Bend and over Mt. Hood and stop at Troutdale the second night and finish off the next morning up to Sumner. Really nice drive and virtually no traffic or anything to deal with for hundreds of miles. I really hate that stretch from Ontario to Pendleton.

My lucky day. Called broker, after a few hours wait, I got the o.k. to load a day early. I got to the place, and the guy was glad to see us(another Poly arrived just ahead of me) said they have so much product they needed us to get here today to make room. So, I have a leisurely drive ahead of me. Although if I push, I can be in GP tomorrow evening...not bad, 22-2300 miles, 3 delivery stops and 1 back haul pickup in 4.5 days...even with a slight delay with that may-pop tire problem.

I have also heard that they want drivers to keep them stored inside the truck so they don't freeze solid. But I heard they stink like a combination of a wet dog and wet fiberglass.

i guess if u put them away after use and its freezing outside and had to use them again soon after that may not work to well. im sure someone must have an idea for that problem, havnt they been using them in europe or somewhere for awhile?

yea, but the people of Europe shower once or twice a month so it would be hard to tell if it was the socks or the driver :biggrin_2554:. (I am referring to a news story I read a few weeks ago about Americans showering too often and how bad it is for the skin)
