It only makes sense to take this route...why try to re-invent the wheel...
plenty of tablets on the market with a lot more power and flexability...any manufacturer would be glad to provide you with one as a platform for your software and a lot easier to update...
just need a good holder....

Man I hope you are wrong about a tablet. We will be back to the days of the dummies with a huge laptop screen on their dash. That laptop copilot was the stupidest thing to hit our industry. And there are still a few numbskulls running around using it.

Its in stores already. Wonder how dot will like a eight inch tablet mounted to the windshield
-
What is the difference between an 8 inch tablet and a 7 inch gps...just sayin the gps is technically a tablet and they do make smaller tablets
-
Not much but companies are moving to 8 and 9 inch tablets. And phones are creeping up to the 7 inch mark.

Well, this might not be a bad concept. I'd buy a 5-7 inch unit that had a camera plug in option. I've already played with my I phone as a dash cam but hated the fact that the camera could not be adjusted and also have the screen in a position I liked. As it stands I have a GPS, satellite radio, and soon to be dash cam. That is 3 power connections that could be reduced if it was powered from one unit. -

When do the map updates come out for the 520's ?
