Ya but I also made reference to #952. I just think he needs to be aware that he is not the brightest bulb on the marquee either LOL.

I run a dash cam (right of RV mirror), 530 (left of RV mirror), phone mount left side of dash, tablet center dash, behind that wife's phone mount, and she has a tablet on her side of the dash.

Passed by and went by many local, state LEO's, they look be never been stopped. None of them are blocking my view of either side of my Jeep. The Tablet is blocking a minimum of the front hood.

That is one thing I look at before I mount anything. Does it block any of my view.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So RM uses same maps as every other outfit out there. Garmin Qualcomm etc. Interesting

There is only really navteq and teleatlas that sells their maps, basically any US GPS uses navteq over teleatlas though. Think tomtom bought teleatlas as well.

Qualcomm doesn't do maps. They do offer applications by Maptuit (Navigo) and CoPilot. But I know Navigo uses different maps than RM...

Navteq is no more it is now HERE maps. Which by the way is in android play store for free with maps that store on your device or SD card for free. True it doesn't have truck features but still

The laptop GPS was a solution that took advantage of the processing power that didn't exist in small packages. At first it seemed like a good idea until drivers that bought it couldn't afford to buy a laptop mount. They then just perched 17 inch monitors on the dash blocking most of the right side windshield. That is a stupid thing to do. Shame on anyone that still drives like this.

Second, now we know why the update to the maps came out so late for the 520/720. There is not enough memory in the unit. This is disappointing since now we have to go spend $5-$10 dollars to expand the memory. I don't use SD cards so I don't want to just shove something into my GPS and screw up the slot. I'm also curious to find out what kind of lag is involved with the maps residing on a card if any.

Will RM be at Mid America truck show this year? I'll be there hoping to try the new unit. I would wait till then if they will sell SD cards. Also would consider buying a 530 if there is some sort of show special.
