Swift Sucks

Desert Son - you are correct in all regards here. I know the correct chapter etc, too (I keep my FMCSR with me at all times, I'm anal. I also have the FMCSA/FMCSR website bookmarked on all my machines. I'm REALLY anal).

Was just being difficult - when pointing at the regs, one should always be careful to point to the right reg if you want other people to take what you say seriously. Even simply transposing numbers - as is obviously what happened here - will detract from your message.

 

Proofreading is good,too. It is easy to spot a rant when there are more typos and grammatical errors than any thing else. Certainly, there are folks who come here and have issues with spelling. However, the angry ones just type and whatever ends up on the screen is what we all get to sort through and figure out. Those who want to help try to make their posts as readable as possible.

 

paw paw all i see from you is your silly put downs.. as i said before it does state that in the fmscr rule book you are not allowed to drive a combination vehicle if it is to cause a break down or a accident...

Again why dont you take the time instead of trying to correct other peoples typing or spelling errors that you take a long look in the mirror before you even attempt to direspect other people...

This site is not intended for you or anyone else to down grade nor disrespect any other persons views or exprience with a truck company....

That company does not have the best intrests of drivers at all...

To even insert the fact that they are a good company is just plain silly...

Facts are Facts

Before you even attempt to post any stats about a company why dont you contact that company and ask questions.....Get the facts...

Swift has a department called Safety....They will be more then happy to provide you with the stats of the accidents that Swift has had...

They will admit to you that they have more accidents then they have trucks...
The turn over rate is higher then any other company...

You can not argue theses facts you dont have any stance on theses facts..

I mean research your facts before you even attempt to debate some one on here or any where for that matter....


Facts are facts and it points to Swift being the worst company to drive for let alone being on the road with....

Ask your self this question would you want to have your wife or children or mother or father on the same road as a swift driver?????

Why would you even want to stand up for a company that does everything shady and illegal in the book to make a dollar.....?????

You should goggle swift and you will see that there is more complaints about that company from past drivers and employees and people who have been hit by a swift driver and along with shipping and receiving yards...

Why would Wal mart of all major companies remove over 85% of all the routes from Swift?????

I mean why would the Federal DOT be investigating and placing heavty fines against a company such as Swift?????

And instead of trying to downgrade some one on here why dont you attempt to be nice and kind and offer helpful friendly advice to someone....

My goal is to share my past exprience with some one to prevent them from being screwed out of money for the hard work I did.....

And from the heartache of having to deal with swift....

Just imagine what would happen when the good drivers help the newbie drivers.....Truck driving would be much better and Companies like Swift would not be in business......

desert storm that is exactly what i did they towed the rig to volvo delearship which that is when the problems started...

They instructed volvo not to fix the truck that they wanted me to drive the busted up rig (which by the way is in writting....as I took pictures as well..)
to the terminal to allow swift to fix it....

That i dont have a problem with allowing swift to save some money however....When Breakdown states that its not illegal to drive a combination vehicle with a bumper hanging and the right head light not working and no back marker lights I have a huge problem with....

I mean why on earth would Swift even attempt to make one of thier drivers take a rig that you can not see at night let alone be illegal to drive on a road way...

Unlike mr super trucker paw paw I do research and ask alot of questions...

My driver manager and the Safety cordinator got into it with break down over trying to force me to drive that vehicle.....

Yes i decided that after not being paid and break down attempting to force me to drive a vehicle that is illegal to drive that i had enough and quit driving....

And Paw Paw needs to get over himself he talks on here like he has driven for 20 years when in fact he dont have much more exprience then I do....

And Paw Paw is one of them truckers that seems to think he has a answer for everything a typical know it all.....

Fact is Swift does have the highest turnover rate in the industry....The fact is Swift does have more accidents then any other truck company....
fact is Swift does not have any intent on looking out for the drivers....

And Paw Paw I have more exprience then you need to give me credit for....
I do take the time to research and ask questions if need be..

You started this petty fued over the net because you think your a Super Trucker ######....

It dont take long for a person if they have any common sense to grasp a basic understanding on what is going on with the company they drive for....

Hookem, you're pissing up a rope with these SwiftQuit cheerleaders, man. In their minds, Swifty's stats mean nothing and can be overlooked. If they ran banks, they'd ignore history and give loans to everybody and everybody's uncle. If they were looking for a wife, they'd settle for women who've been divorced five times. They are what they are and we can't do anything to change the way they look at the world. Those who know better must simply tip-toe around the cheerleaders and move on to those that can be helped.

 

Hookem, enough people here have pointed out the error in your "facts". Now you should feel good that Tip is coming to your rescue. If you have read the entirety of posts I have addressed to you, I have encouraged you to do what you feel you need to do about a different company but if you carry the same "know-it-all" attitude there you will have problems. I will call safety tomorrow. I will also post their response here. You have made statements that you cannot back up with facts. You have been the one putting people down. I have responded only to your misrepresentations. I am not, as Tip calls it, a SwiftQuit cheerleader. Does Swift have problems? Yes. Does Roehl (one company that Tip says is so good) have problems? Yes, based on comments here. Here is a revelation for everyone: THERE ARE NO PERFECT TRUCKING COMPANIES OUT THERE!!! They all have problems, they are all in it for the company's bottom line and drivers are not that important to them. The only way to work for a perfect trucking company is to incorporate your own business, build your own client base and then you can be perfectly happy.

Obviously Swift is not for you. But you cannot argue the idea that it is the worst or that all the drivers hate it because there are many who are happy working there. Their satisfaction with Swift does not invalidate your bad experience any more than your bad experience invalidates theirs.

You are the one who identified your apparent experience level since you said you were to be paid $0.26 per mile and that would put you in the first three months of driving for Swift. I find it interesting that, in this attack on my reply, you still have not listed the start and stop points for your 4,200 mile trip.

You can post what you want to post here but so can I. You are the one who gets so defensive when someone points out the other side of issues or the errors in your "facts". So, have a nice day. Do Swift a favor, quit and go somewhere else. Hopefully, you will find a company that better suits your needs and treats you the way you want to be treated. That way you can enjoy the life you have desired to live. Best wishes.

For your accident, why couldnt you go in the morning to the terminal? Marker lights are pretty inexpensive to fix, Volvo could have fixed that, or the nearest truck stop usually sells them. A bent bumper is not illegal if its not rubbing on a tire, or sticking out past the truck.

Walmart is the biggest customer of Swifts, and has continued to grow year over year. Truck stop chatter, though entertaining, does not hold up as fact.

Worst accidents? Swifts accidents are not that bad. Accidents are measured per million miles driven. Swift is under 10 accidents per million miles. We also count in all accidents in that number, not just preventable.

Turnover is not even close to being the worst. The industry is still far outpacing Swift on turnover.

Everyone needs to vent, and it definately appears you were venting, hope you feel better, and good luck to you.

I have been waiting for you to chime in to this conversation as, being a Swift terminal manager, you would best be able to address the ridiculous claims being made. Unfortunately, I doubt that Hookem will listen to even you. I enjoyed my time at Swift, after I got my attitude straightened out and, if it weren't for the no-dog policy, I would probably consider coming back; though I have been told that they are not taking rehires in this area at this time.

Sometimes people have very valid points, and others like this, its really obvious that something happened, and he is mad at Swift and wants to do everything he can to get back at us, including making up false information.

Ya we are watching how many we bring on to Swift right now. Only because of the economy and us downsizing our fleet. We dont want to many waiting to get a truck.
