But what about on Elogs? Sometimes i get loads that i have hrs but no time after to get to the t/s for my break. Or no cushion time if something delays me delivering on time. Trip plan goes out the window ya know.

i have luxury of line 5. If you don't have this, then you need to ask if you can park out of the way on the property. If they say no, find out if there is somewhere close to park. Security or customer will usually know a place. If all else fails, stand your ground let them know you can't legally move and call their bluff of calling the cops. Call safety while the cops are coming...then explain your situation to the cops when they arrive and see what happens.

Taking a 10 after a delivery. Or maybe waiting to deliver. I can't be sure, let me check my logbook LOL.

    Good deal... :yes2557:

Off topic...? Almost nothing is off topic here...
    How you handle that?
Well... me, I contact customer before I get there if possible and ask about parking in their premisses or nearby and explain why... Some have allowed me to drop trailer and return after my 10... It's easier to find a place to park without a trailer...
If I can't drop trailer and there's parking nearby, I use PC (personal conveyance... or line 5) to drive to "safe heaven" after empty.
I am on elog and my co. allows maximum of 20 miles PC.
Now, if none of those choices are available, I may tell customer and dispatcher and broker that I will have to deliver on the following day or after my 10 hr break. My co. has always supported me on those decisions. :yes2557:
There was one time when I was going to be loaded... arrived at customer with over 5 hrs from my 14 but the product wasn't ready and they said it would take a while... and wouldn't allow me to park there overnight because of neighbors complaints about the noise...
Well... once I realized it would get late and I might run out of hrs and even if I were to use PC, wouldn't be able to find parking anywhere, I called my dsp and told then I would go back the next day cause I wouldn't risk get a log violation or be stranded because of customer's delay... :biggrin_25512: DSP agreed with me and immediately called broker to let them know. Somehow, broker called customer and customer let me take my 10 hr break at their premisses after loaded... and I didn't make any noise... I have an APU and don't idle truck... So, everybody was happy... :biggrin_25519:

Parked at the Greater Chicago 55 truck stop. Exit 267 on I55...,
Not bad.... just dark as heck and gotta pay $10 to park. Doesnt feel like the safest parking lot.
But its close to Golden St Foods so I can deliver in the AM...then reload in Des Plains Illinois headed to Minneapolis.........
Any of you kind ol timers wanna PM me your Chicago hidey holes??? Lol.... This is such a parking desert....

Greater Chicago 55 truck stop.....my uncle owns that place.

The Chicagoland area is a parking desert. Some tips I can give you is some of the toll booths have parking spots and/or will let you park on the shoulder. The travel plazas on the toll roads have truck parking and will let you park on the shoulder but it gets full pretty early. The Des Plaines, Elk Grove and probably the Bolingbrook area probably will let you park on the side streets overnight.
