so been running sand around south Texas for a while and just found out i'm being sent out west for the foreseeable future. just wondering what the huge differences are. South Texas as in, been all over Fowlerton/Tindle as well as to the north of Laredo. What i'm being told for west Texas is i will prob be loading in San Angelo for the most part. From what my boss says the pay should be a little better, 300 avg length of hauls after loading vs 100-150. ( pay = 25% of load) any tips would be greatly appreciated.
South Texas vs West Texas.

Depending on where you're running, showers may be hard to come by. None of the truckstops around San Angelo have showers...from what I saw. It's been a little over a year since I was down there though. If you're running 300 miles loaded, should be passing something though.

I heard the South shall secede. You might have to fight your brother.

truck stop with shower I know around here is in Big Lake - the Pilot... aaaand that's it.
oh wait no, the Fuel Source in Mertzon is supposed to have some as well -
Last time i was at the fuel source, the shower is in a trailer behind the store

Speaking of sand to west texas, just left Brady and came home after two days sitting. Shell fuel stop parking lot jammed up, up and down the highway jammed up, Stripes jammed up. trucks stacked everywhere. Some 1845's been there 4 days. maybe it will break loose soon. Can not recommend shower at the Shell, the walls are slimy.

Ive been running south texas since august. Now im out in west texas...phone signals are really bad. If you have
AT&T you should be good. I have Verizon and had to invest in a cell phone booster. Just something to think about.
