You're kidding right? If you got ObamaCare for $292 a month you have no income and should be on Medicaid!! There is no such right as "affordable" health care! Pay your fair share of medical insurance costs and don't stick me with the tab!!

Not kidding one bit, yes I have a job & what makes you think I'm on your tab?..... Where do you get your facts from? Or are you assuming way too much

HAHAHA Where do you think Obamacare comes from? I've seen no insurance policy anywhere that will be paid in full at $292 a month. Are you on a Silver, Gold or Platinum plan?
What is your deductible and co-pay?

I'm not sure what policy it is but I know it's $40 for an office visit and that goes toward a $3000 deductible, my wife set it up so that's why I don't know the details of it all but the reasoning behind it was because my company wanted $186 a week for their coverage, they said that was ridiculous so we qualified, don't get me wrong I'm neither a Republican or a Democrat..... I think they are both on the same team in fact, it's what I call "the smoke & mirrors effect"..... So I guess I'm a Ron Paul supporter at best or a green party kind of American

But back to the subject, I don't think any company has any business asking questions about if a man's wife has a job or her own insurance or really anything like that, it's none of their darn business in the first place

I agree, but dont insurance companies tell truck companies what drivers they can hire,ie tickets, crashes, age...Insurance companies have alot of money and money equals power...MCleod is only doing what they are told to by the Ins company..Even UPS is doing it and they are a big union company...

It sounds like your company has expensive insurance at $186 a week. But $292 a month is heavily subsidized by the government. The $186 a week for a family would be a cheap private policy. Good luck and happy trucking!!

Its not just trucking companies. I worked in IT and high tech companies also do it. All companies are trying to reduce their costs. It has been that way for years and it has been amplified by Obamacare.
Most companies want to know if their spouses have coverage but most don't really look at it too hard. They figure that if the spouses insurance is cheaper you or at least the spouse will stay on that.
