My phone calls me Kunta Kinte.
But I set up personalized ringers so if it's not "Baby I gotcha money" by ODB, I know it's not work.
If its "Wanna be a baller" by Lil Troy, it's my ex and I know to ignore it.
If its "Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri Hilson, I know it's my daughter Jasmine and I better answer because the texting queen rarely calls unless it's important.Last edited: Mar 7, 2015

Imagine the horror of not having an instantaneous communication device on us at all times...... Life was better then.
My day shift dispatch gets angry if I actually call in instead of using the automated system, our night dispatchers are better about it because they understand the limitations in the system. I called in and asked her one morning if she was a dispatcher. She said she was, so I said dispatch me then, you're not paying me to be a dispatcher!
The automated system needs a bit of work because we have to make two calls or more into it. We have to call in to arrive ourselves and then call back into it to dispatch ourselves, really stupid to have it set up to not allow us to get our new load info from there. IF a dispatcher in the office hasn't put any load info into the system for you, you have to call into the office anyway. So, generally I just call the office. -

For some reason....when I leave the truck for dinner/shower/coffee.....the phone gets left behind! You want me to call you back leave a message and I'll decide if it is worth my time to call back!

allniter, Ducks, Shaggy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I am certainly a slave to my phone. I have a device I can argue with random strangers AND watch cat videos/ trucker fail videos. I sometimes have withdraws on those lonely 14 hour work days. Anyone ever seen the movie "Her"? Yeah..

My wife is the same way with her phone.
I have personalized ringtones for most people who call me so I usually know who is calling without having to "run to my phone" like my wife would.
When my boss calls it's "take this job and shove it" when the wife calls it's the imperial March song from star wars
