The reason they switched coolants is because truck had overheating issues so they axed the Evans coolant in favor of the red.

Has anyone heard an update as far as whats going on since Sunday?

This is what I'm saying when I say "IF" they paid approx. 200k for this truck. The "Master" has A LOT to gain if Midget & Co. swindled these two into paying the asking price.

For example let's say this truck didn't incur this tragic failure. Everything went off as planned. Great!! Now factor in this couples time commited to truck shows, the CMC, interviews etc. They are now bonafide "experts/consultants" like it or not. Their time is now worth something. Ask yourself this....Does an accountant, attorney. consulting firm or for that matter KR charge a fee for their expertise/time? Of course they do. If Jeff and Kathy didn't have a hand in the structure of this deal/venture then they deserve everything they have coming for better or worse! Any "profit" they may have made by having this experiment go right would easily be eaten up with regards to time spent not working the truck. Realistically it wouldn't take a full year to see 5 years of fuel mileage gain disappear if they didn't position themselves to gain financially via their time working shows, seminars etc.

We'll never know the details of this experiment. Speculation is all we'll be commenting from. Furthermore revealing the details of this arrangement hurts Midget & Co position to gain financially, a position he isn't shameful of nor should he be. Honestly I'm surprised with the transparency we've been privied to so far......

ya I think so isnt it on a fedex account salt lake to portland and didnt they also try building just a signature engine as well. And isnt it funny how until all this happened kr knocked cummins now he all of a sudden says build a n14 theyre great engines. Just like how he always knocked having your own authority and was better to lease to carrier for $1 a mile plus fsc. Now hes pushing having your own authority. Its hilarious the way he changes overnight lol.

He will probably end up going into politics if this ruins him. So lets not let that happen. Call him tomorrow and tell him he is great and all will be well.

#1 the truck weighed 23,000 pounds
#2 he spent $200,000 for a truck that only gave a slight increase in mPGs.
#3 at this point the truck is useless.

I don't know how much weight or terrain the truck was on, but $200,000 and getting 8 mpg can be acquired easily with almost any newer aero truck, at lower speeds on flat to moderate terrain. If he was running the west across Colorado or 84 in Oregon and getting 8-9 mpg pulling heavy, I almost get it. Looking at the numbers and comparing to what I get in a t700 while running at 60 through Cali and Oregon on the 5, there is no way that was worth $200,000, especially seeing that he may not be able to salvage the block.

yah, but Joe.... All the guy has ever claimed is that he wants to help O/O's save money, and that he is an expert at fuel mileage with a 12.7 Detroit, and that we should not only listen but pay for his instuction, his knowledge and advice. I'm sure on the surface it looks as if he put his signature on this truck. It looks as if he intended for it to be the culmination of 20 years of acquired knowledge. I'm sure it looks as if it was going to be his Mona Lisa, his crowning achievement, showing us all how spending money on his recommended upgrades and technology will pay itself back in folds....

BUT, err, but.... aww heck, forgot what I was gonna say. I did learn something about saving money as an owner operator though. So kudo's to the man for that.

    joseph1135 and Hammer166 Thank this.
