Any word on the lockup situation on the TND-720. Have junction view turned off and still locks up sporadically. I'm assuming that the solar flares had something to do with the route following going off into the boonies at various points a few days ago. This was happening on the west coast.

Wow! ... I'm starting to wonder if I should just wait until all these bugs get healed before I try to upgrade my 720 from
desk paper weight duty. It is completely dead in the water at this point and I don't know if I can deal with any more
aggravation! lol

Ya I think RM bit off more than they could chew by coming out with the TND-730 then shortly after with the tablet and then trying to make it all work. I think they should concentrate on one properly functioning unit first to save a lot of aggravation.
From my experience with these units, over the last 4 years, I truly believe their programmers are sub par and don't have a clue on how to route TRUCKS properly.
If it wasn't for Mark being on this thread and helping everyone out I would have ditched RM already.

 

I updated my 720 per marks instructions and have not had any problems at all....

i will be updating my spare 720 this weekend....

i dont understand why so many people have had such problems

 

Guess you're one of the lucky ones. My 2 updated just fine but the one my wife uses has random lockups to which there is supposed to be a fix coming.
Hopefully the fix will come in less time than it took for the new map set to come.

 

I had no issue upgrading my 520. I love the new truck stop specific search function. Finally figured out how to use the new search function. It's slightly awkward, but functional. Got my first navi.exe error that crashed the unit. I was searching for a specific POI near my truck. As the ring got bigger around my truck it eventually crashed. Reset the unit and won't be doing that type of search again.

Looking forward to Mid America Truckshow next week! Will play with all the new toys and decide if I stick with RM going forward. I hope Cobra is there again so I can get another laugh like I did last year with their GPS.

finally got my money back....

darn thing would crash if you had any route that included georgia in it...they said it was an error they were trying to fix...
