    Thanks Tony. I see that adding that extra detail like a chauffeur or dinner plus a show makes it even better. I hadn't thought about that extra stuff. And thank you, we're a team, the drivers are part it :)

    Another thing about any rewards, is to make it consistent. Will it be annually, semi-annually?

    Will the final outcome be too expensive to continue past say the 2nd person to receive it?

    Will it be a fair reward system, that every employee (driver), no matter his time there? Or only open to employee's with say 5 years working there?

    I think a lower-end reward would mean more (to me) than an expensive one. A vacation trip (of sorts) to a water park with hotel nearby, would be cheaper than say Disney World. Could your company afford such a vacation?

    There is a company, R+L I believe that has a vacation home in Florida? And once a year, a top employee and his family get to go there for a week. NOT that you have to go and buy a vacation home, but just saying what is offered by some.

    Maybe a weekend golfing trip, fishing trip, hunting trip, all can be done cheaper on a yearly basis, then say a vacation in Bermuda.?

    reward a driver with very good safe equipment, put a large frig in the truck, an APU and satilite radio,make sure that before you dispatch the driver all load and pick up info and directions are correct,,handle any problems a driver has with the shipper and receiver, stand behind your driver if he has problems,,never lie to a driver and when you say you will get him home on a certain date do it, then pay him well for making you money,,

    Guys you're not thinking.

    Cash = TAXES!

    depending on your state tax base, and your withdrawals each week for taxes, you could lose "up to" half that cash?

    Just like O/T right? Work x number of hours, after taxes, nearly half gone to taxes

    Where as, all the other merchandise, vacation trip, the taxes are paid by the employer.

    Gotta think guys, gotta think taxes for cash. Once the employer cuts that check for say $1,000 cash bonus, say good bye to a chunk of it!

    Maintain your equipment and pay me well...oh and provide good uniforms at no cost. That other stuff never lasts long because it is easy to cut and usually derived from people trying to justify their own paycheck.
