A bunch of this stuff, buckles / pewter statues / wooden plaques / and many awards and patches lay in an old corn crib, all bearing the same name. Along with a newspaper clipping from around the early 80's stating he was the only one in OH, WV, KY, and I think Indiana to achieve a certain award, he was 1 of an estimated 75,000 to take the test, and 1 of the top 10 to pass all of it. Shame there is not more like him. Maybe he could set on the sideline and help us build them a new engine that won't puke...???? LOL :biggrin_25519: CAT buckle.jpg

That is sad, I had an Acert go just past a million and the bearings looked a hell of a lot better than that!

    RE: Bearing Pics

Unbelievable pics. PP & KR can see the same evidence we see, no doubt about it. Yet no words from them. That speaks volumes!

Aside from the localized wear points in the rod bearing (surely indicating foreign trash trapped between bearing shell & rod/cap),
the wide central wear area, on both rod & main bearings, also seems indicative of either a temporary no/insufficient oil condition, or
excessive bearing clearance to begin with... or both conditions.

I wonder if the owners had bearing clearances checked upon teardown? It's vital info in this case, amongst many.
Also lots of debris pitting/embedment, especially seen in the top main bearing. smh

I'm not the least bit surprised they have clamed up on this. A reputable shop would take the blame and make it right, these clowns are just going to try to ignore it and let the dust settle.

Yeah, but he was still pimping bose seats today. Their miraculous design prevents vibrations from reaching the body rejuvenating energy and contributing to good driver health. And if you call today, you too can own one for the low low price of $6,000.

I'll take 2 for that price! Anything to put a dollar back into KR's pocket :biggrin_255:

Those Bose seats are awesome, and if you had 6G's burning a hole, it'd be nice. But to try and justify it for health reasons? :biggrin_2559: Get your lard encrusted tail out and do something! It's cheaper and far better for you!

The sad thing about this whole thing, is the homers are gonna blame anyone but their heroes, and in a year or two there'll be enough new guys with big truck dreams who only know that they hear guys worship PP, and it'll be business as usual. Look at the idiot I quoted earlier: "it's junk but it ain't their fault." WTH?!?:biggrin_2554:

To my understanding, the shop they are at is going through evertthkng and showing them piece by piece what went wrong and why it went wrong.

I hope they're documenting all of it, too! If a certain responsible party was smart, they'd pay up and make this go away before there's a legal document forever enshrining the sordid details.

Oh, I'm pretty sure there are lawyers involved already. If not, there will be.
