Are there any freight guys on here still or did the food guys take over.

I've been working inbound a lot lately. Here's some of the crap I get sent.

    GAAH!! FREIGHT PTSD!!! :biggrin_25524:

Sorry...I just had a night on the dock that looked almost like that. Crashed-over dinnerware, bundles of travel trailer axles losing their banding...ugly freight almost start to finish. This post just made my twitches and night sweats come back.

That must be where all the freight guys went. They're all getting their meds refilled from their psychiatrists.

My last run was a SOB! A sheet of ice for 250miles across Wy with of course DOT not putting down enough sand. Trucks in the ditch flipped over. First time in 3 yrs I've seen a UPSF flipped over in the ditch only 8 miles from his meet point too. Long night. Next night dry like it didn't even snow. Heard FXF lost it out there too. Hope they all made out ok without injuries. I personally think there should be a Federal regulation for CRST, Swift, England and other newb companies that force them to shut down in adverse weather conditions. One them guys almost put me in the ditch.

Yup. Some days are better than others, but those look like some "par for the course" trailers that I've unloaded while helping out on the inbound shift.

The best are the lift operators that stack **** on top of pallets that are clearly marked "do not stack on top of this pallet...a claim will follow." I had to write up a few pallets the other day that were on the bottom and were completely pancaked in from the weight on top of them.:biggrin_25510:

it's clear that ALL the warehouse people are exactly the same. No matter if food or freight. Every single food guy I talk to in real world says they do the same dumb stuff as mine.

why exactly do they only hire "experienced warehouse people?" could you really do worse?

and what's the point of drug testing? like a druggie could do worse?

so, there's a sign up on the bad new board that says "drivers, please sweep your trailers out"

nope, not going to do it.

    1. not paid for it. I'm paid for pieces, miles and stops. You want to pay me hourly what i usually make ($25 plus), then fine, i'll do it, but otherwise, unpaid labor is slavery

    2. what part of "off duty" do you not understand?

    3. with what brooms? (that's the note someone put up there, there are no brooms around)

not telling anyone just simply not doing it. Want to fire me, go ahead, I'll be employed tomorrow, heck last week I got a call out of the blue from a driver agency "are you employed, do you need work, we need drivers and I still have your file". you'll be short drivers. They can't even put product that isn't expired on the trucks, they'll never notice.

i'm pretty sure you could hire some loser temp agency to sweep out trailers at $10/hour.
