    And how would you like your company to ban you from having food or soda pop cans in the truck, on the pretense you "might" make a mess of the truck with them too? That would avoid that potential problem also, wouldn't it?

    I've seen one truck that didn't have 2" of flooring without a cigarette burn on it. I think you'd have to try hard to do something like that to a truck...

    That's easy to do for a careless chain smoker.But on the plus side cigarettes are wrapped in a different paper where they'll burn out within a minute or so if you don't take a drag.

    I agree to this as well, There should be mutual respect. If the truck is cleaned the driver should never get charged. Some driver who don't smoke will not get in a truck that has been heavily smoked in due to allergies etc...

    Even if you clean the truck out the stink from the smoke is still there. The government has banned smoking in the workplace . That law should apply to truck cabs. But of course it doesn't .

    I own my truck ... And it's spotless on the inside.

    To the op... Just don't hire smokers.

    Yes,, I guess the government is always the best one to say what's right and what's wrong, and how we should manage our lives, here in the land of the "free".

    No argument there. :biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:

    We have some great drivers that smoke, But it does devalue the truck and limits who you put into it next. Just trying to find a happy medium. Thanks for the responses.

    Rewrite your policy handbook concerning smoking.I smoke and I don't have a problem with banning smoking from the trk,they can have one outside.More and more companies are doing this and never hear drivers complain.Heard FedEx don't allow smoking in the trks not even ecigs.
