That's true. But the real problem isn't lying with the megas here. Most drive slow or get off the highway all together. Which, honestly, is fine for the rest of us. It does keep it safer. The problem is the Eastern Europeans and Fed Ex. Who don't slow down or heed warnings. A few years ago, they shut it down on Sherman. They opened her up and a few of us brave souls went. It was slick and snowing bad, and we were all in a line at about 25-30. One of the white Volvos passed us in the left lane. Had to be running 60. And he wiped out. And they closed Sherman again.

Should have been more specific, as part of what I meant was that there'd be more of that crowd as fewer kids choose trucking as their career.

Hammer, this is our new reality out here now. How many of these multi truck wrecks did we have this year?

Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, PA, Michigan, Indiana just to name a few.

Everybody gripes about I-70. I'll run that way every chance I can to avoid the nightmare I-80 has become on the busy days!

I'm gonna be honest. I'm gonna have a hard time coming off the 5 next winter. I'm not afraid of snow, wind and ice or chaining. It's trucking. But there's too many "drivers" running nose to tail in all kinds of weather and road conditions, and too many entitlement "truckers" out here now. My company is full of southerners (no offense kids) that scream they want to run west and absolutely refuse to chain, and really don't know or care how to truck in bad weather. Something's gotta give, and because of this stupid BS, what gives is the real drivers giving up to e-logs, speed limiters and DOT rectal exams while the others skirt common sense and rules.

Spoke too soon. I-80 is open across Wyoming. Black ice warnings from exit 323 Laramie to Cheyenne, exit 348.

Isn't it a serious fine if you get caught running the 'road closed' barricades in WY?

Per W.S. 24-1-109, motorists traveling on a closed road without permission from WYDOT or WHP may be subject to a fine of up to $750 and/or up to 30 days imprisonment

the only way to prevent this in the future is to build a tunnel, with entrances and exits in Park City and pine bluffs. I've been saying it for years. And please reference the above definition of humor if you think I'm serious
