I rent a house from a nice fella and live in this rented house with my daughter. She is 16 and beautiful.
If I discovered a video camera or a microphone in my daughter's room that transmitted to a remote location there is nothing anyone could do to keep me from k_illing the MF at the other end. You could probably agree with that rather rash sentiment...
Imagine it turned out that the nice man I rented the house from was the MF at the other end. I really wouldn't care about any justifications he tried to put up. He's has seen his last birthday. But, if you came along and puked out some poppas &^&MM like "Conversations you have while on property owned by others are not private and there are no laws which say otherwise" I would throw up on your shoes. Then I would laugh at you. Not because you were so wrong. No, I would laugh at you because that makes sense to you.
You also replied to Switches that you spend 300 days a year in your office. The man was stating something literal and you switched to the figurative just to be a smart ^^&* and said you spend 300 days in your office. I can't believe this has to be pointed out to you. You DO NOT spend 300 days in your office. You may go to your office 300 days out of a year, but you do not spend 300 days in your office. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. Resist the urge to respond with more baloney.SouthernLady and sisterannie Thank this. -

You aren't even a trucker? What is your agenda then? Is it your mission to enlighten the little confused people? Geez dude are you really this clueless? Nobody cares what you think. Get it....Kindle Thanks this. -
The first step would be to start a petetiton. Change dot org, is a great place. there is this forum but many others. Ok so not every Swift driver is on them but you can talk to other Swifty's you see at Truck stops or at p/u and deliveries and get them to sign up. I bet there is a place for fliers in the driver's lounges, where you can advertise the petition and your displeasure at the cameras. Maybe some nice significant others like me who are close to a terminal could go and paper not only the parked cars but the trucks with fliers for the petition and asking them to comment to Swift directly. Maybe a petition with enough signitures is enough to get Swift attention. -
I do not mean to be rude but Swift could care less about change.org.

We are told that it records video and audio in both directions, and 24/7.
That much is clear.
A lens on the driver facing portion of the camera would also be very clear.
We are also free to cover the camera when off duty.
The audio feed remains, however. That can't really be covered up, except with maybe a white noise device.
These cameras are installed or coming to many companies, and might be required in the future just to get insurance.
My view is that I will wait and see what they (Swift) actually do with it.
I've heard reports that the camera is in record/save mode when nothing is going on, but I have no first hand experience with it. I don't have a camera yet. I probably will with my next truck.
And I haven't heard reports that drivers have been fired for events that were not saved for the right reasons.
Maybe it is a big conspiracy cover up?
If that were the case there would be many more loads available because of all the fired drivers that did one little thing wrong.
I know what the cameras are capable of, and what Swift is telling us as to their use.
Only time will tell.
But be sure, unless Swift has a back door into this forum, I will report anything concerning this in the future.
