thats a great point about the macks...i think there is more suport up in the northeast ware i live...i have been a mechanic and fixed a fleet of MR macks and some of the parts are pricy. but not realy out of line i like your vision and would be happy with it i agree with you on the freightliners falling apart even know the detroit is a good motor...the 386 petes i am finding are reasonable priced i am finding 2007s with ISX 10 and 13 speed tranys in the 800-1mil mile range in the low 30s...that dosent sound bad to me ....i think they are so cheep because everybody who buys petes want a hood...i am looking for a aero truck even the kwt2000 is in my view.....

would you run an n14 over an isx....I am finding a few trucks with red heads in them is the fuel milage better on the isx or the n14 No worry on def i will not buy anything pasy a 2007

I do like detroit unfortanally they are mostley in freightliners and they are almost at the bottom of my list due to the poor build Quality

Cats are not in my radar due to the price to maintain and rebuild also i was never a fan of twin turbos....

I wasent aware of the clutch pedal prob on the international and i agree with you on the old style body ...

I am not looking to buy the cheepest truck i can find i am looking for a decent newer looking truck that i will be happy with and keep for several years ..and if i need to put a motor in it i woulnt feel traped in a old truck that i am upside down price wise...as i said in another post i am finding pete 386/387s at a reasonable prices for 2007s

    new isx's are red to
they dont have the power like the old big cams
We had a isx at my old work, it got like 6mpg but we were hauling 40k, it had no balls

cats only have twin turbo if its a emissions motor. I had a single 03 for the last 6 months, I love the power decent fuel but doesnt like cold.

387s and t2000 are known horrendous electrical nightmares, 387 uses fiberglass doors, so does frieghtliner, they leak air and known to wobble hinges off. Guy at my work has a 09 387, he opened his hood and the front mounts snapped off..... We had to pick it up and put it back on and go to pete for a new mount. all the low end trucks have issues
I would stick to the higher models, almost the same price.

my new truck is a 11 cascadia, I went to buy a 386, until I seen the wheel base starts at 236. This is 218, rougher ride, but backs good. go longer if heavy and no need to dock.

We run nothing but CATs in our fleet in Montana. They do just fine in the cold.

As for the Mack Vision, I would not own one. Drove one for 2 weeks as a favor for a friend. You could chain that sucker to a tree and the jake still would not hold you back. The frames are also weak. I found 2 cracks in the frame where the torsion bars bolted to the frame. It did have nice interior room but that was the only thing going for it in my opinion.

Six one half a dozen of the other, trucks are trucks and a big part of how they operate is how you treat them and how you maintain them. Mack product support can be more difficult to come by in certain parts of the country however. International are solid trucks, never had an issue driving the one I hauled milk with. From a style perspective I'd probably go with a 386, but, that doesn't inherently make it a superior truck to the Binder or Mack.

i agree with your reply with exception.....i realy don't want to buy an old body style truck and have the dot look at me on every turn.....i do like the mack vision and the 386/387 for looks and milage everyone says they are built better than internationals...not sure how they compair with macks.....

i thought that about my mack when i first got it as well till i figured out the jake was not functioning properly fixed that and it holds as well as my 60 series now. witch is still weak compared to a isx but it is sufficient.
