I'm sure with a fresh police report and a strap to secure the hood, with the missing latch, you'd be fine to complete the run. Best to make it home and deal with the repairs at home base. While the trucks getting fixed on Kochs dime, your at home drinking a bud.
Bound to happen sooner or later

I have all his info. Called his insurance. They have IRL insurance,.. they dont even have a 24hr claims service. I got passed to an after hours service which too my report. I still have to call and talk to an 'agent' in the morning. Then have to call their guy who handles their driver boo boos. I'm sure he's going to want to avoid going through insurance and minimize their pay out.
I'm not a morning person,.. so I'll be in the right mood. This is my money,.. I'm under a load that needs to be repowered and then return my trailer back here, or they need to rent me a truck so I can finish my load. They need to fix my truck and they need to pay for my down time plus what ever other expenses if I decide to fly home or stay in a hotel until my truck is done. Somehow I doubt it will be fixed in under 2 weeks. Freightliner has some of the worst service I know of, This is Nashville,.. I dont expect them to be 5 star around here. He's not going to want to hear all that.
HurstRaiderfanatic, truckon and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Thats the first thing my wife said.
Hurstdog-c, Raiderfanatic, NavigatorWife and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm anal about my PTI,.. I always check oil and fluids and do a 'Proper' PTI,.. that means checking drag link, arm, shocks, suspension etc.
It pushed the 1/4 fender into the tank. I can see the brace that held it is all bent to hell. Cracked my fender from the front to the back. Bashed my lower step as well.
The hood I know would stay down with a bungee. I'm not sure the 1/4 fender would make the trip. Its all cracked and loose. The lower step is only being held on by one bolt,.. bungee that too I guess. Rather just get it fixed,.. rent a truck if I have to, to get the load delivered and hope they reimburse me.

That blows, mate.
G.O.A.L. - the one thing I learned that's kept me from being the Koch driver all this time.
Make IRL squeal.Hurst Thanks this. -
Man that does bite. Wonder if they will pay the bill to get it towed to a repair shop of your choice.
I know when I got hit, it was kinda an in house deal as one of the trks. leased to the same company hit me.
They let me take it to the shop I wanted it done at.
Be ready for a long battle for repairs and down time claims..
You can pull the quarter fender off. Plus unbolt the step bracket if needed.
This sounds ugly...Cetane+, NavigatorWife, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah,.. absolutely rather be home while this gets fixed. Definitely wont be in any hurry as long as IRL pays up.
Should I report this to my insurance and make them go after IRL if they give me any grief tomorrow? I have full coverage, Comp and collision on this old hoopty for just such an emergency.
Be weird to have a green hood again.
