Why do you say the odds are stacked against at Prime or is that just in general in this industry?

 

Ah, so he lied to me.
So let me get this straight- you guys turn yourselves into rolling roadblocks to benefit yourselves and choke off traffic behind you of your own free will? Maybe you should also put yourselves permanently in the right lane or give the rest of us some of that money. Lol....

 

Not claiming he lied to you, just that he didn't pay attention to the part where we are governed at 62 on the company side 65 on lease and that Prime had proven time and time again that by going 55 we can achieve an average 9mpg or better which equates to a very nice fuel bonus each week. I think it's an additional ¢5/mile if you average 9mpg and if you average 8mpg you get ¢3/mile more each week.

So yes, we as drivers at prime do choose to drive slower to achieve better fuel economy and a bigger paycheck. Best part is, the roads are big enough for you to pass us so it shouldn't bother you how slow we go.

 

So, what about the tires? Do you get charged for tire damage as a company driver?

 

Sorry, I missed that part. Only time you get charged for tires as a company driver is if you were negligent. For example, you curbed the tires at a high speed because you just didn't care. I've had to have tires replaced on my old company truck and was never once charged for damage. Now as a lease driver I'm on the hook for the tires on my tractor but that's what your tire fund is for.

If you failed at a lease its your own fault.

 

I wasn't going to be that brutal, but you hit the nail on the head. Prime makes it easy to succeed as a lease operator. You just have to understand you are a business, not a over glorified company driver.

Ok? This thread has already been attacked by a number of trolls who need to go back under thier rocks in mummy's basement.

As far as training goes the thread on "Prime Inc, Springfield Edition." Is great, lots of info.in regard to tires as a company driver, I have never been charged for a tire as a company driver.

I'll leave you with this. If you don't have a business mindset, don't lease. If you go eventually want to lease you should at least go company for a while to get the gist of being a solo driver. If you jump into a lease right out of training you could have a confusing struggle.
