The speed limit was 45. He was doing nearly 30 mph over it. C'mon. Whether or not anyone was working, the speed limit was still 45. And he was doing 73. That's beyond stupid.

it was not marked! There are no signs saying it was 45 MPH. There are no barricades, cones, neon witches embedded in asphalt and garden gnomes with pointed hats. There is no way of knowing it was a 45MPH zone..good grief Charley Brown. He's a good guy who had no way of knowing there was a construction zone in that stretch of road. And by the number of four wheelers and semi's that passed me today I pretty much have to assume they don't think it's a construction zone either.

I admit I wasn't there and I am not familiar with that particular construction zone. And yes I admit I have had a few
speeding tickets in a CMV. I won't make any excuses for that. But no, I have never gotten a speeding ticket for
going 28 mph over the limit or anything over the limit like that. A lot of cops will let you get by with 5 or even 10 over
the limit, but 28! Nope, that ain't gonna happen. That's wreckless driving. Your friend better find a good lawyer and
it's going to cost him a lot of $$$. If he beats this maybe in the future he will realize his CDL is his meal ticket and
if he want's to keep it he better start driving like a professional. Driving is a privilege not a right. I mean how much
time will you save by speeding thru a construction zone, 5 or maybe 10 minutes at most?

Well go north on US349 from Rankin towards Midland and you'll see a one lane construction zone with a pilot car. Once you clear that there's no markings or signs. I drove it today and saw nothing once I cleared that area till I turned on the lease road my tank battery was on; about 6 miles north of the one lane zone.

At the end of construction zones they will usually have at least 1 sign (usually 2) the indicate the end of the construction zone AND one indicating the end of the construction speed limit zone. If these signs are not placed after the marked zone, then technically the zone is still in force, marked or not.

Back to the complete nonsense this thread is revered for,
I ended up taking my reset today, in a small town I love, it is really downtown America.
sure there is a small truckstop 2 miles over, but, that's not my scene.
I wandered around in a true downtown scene, I'm parked next to the loudest train tracks in the Universe, horn blowing, clanking, yelling, but at least they allow parking,

And I can sit at the picnic table in the park in front of the truck, I snagged this super awesome piece of artwork in a small antique store.
    [IMG] It's totally ####ing awesome.
    Back to work tomorrow:(
