I'm leaving the Mid-west.. I knew it would only be a short matter of time till I got lured into PA again and welllll it happened :evil3:

About 370 all miles at nearly $3 all miles but it's only Pittsburgh so it's not too bad, I should be able to escape back to the Midwest with not too much harm done.
Definitely do not want to go anymore east because anymore east and you fall into the Northeast black hole where there's no escape and if you try to escape this dude is waiting to attack your rates :thin:

I see a way I can get out at a good rate but that would mean taking a heavy load through back roads of WV.
Think I'd rather beat my head against a wall than do that.

I'll take a long weekend load into the Northeast delivering Monday cause I know I'd have all week to work it and find a way out.
However I don't wanna be stuck over there over a weekend, a lot shuts down on weekends in the Northeast.

    here's a fun fact...

Working Tuesday through oh Thursday at noon I'll be at 842 miles for the week and $2,035.04 in revenue if I decided to take the rest of the day off on Thursday.. then take off Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon after fuel and fixed for the week I'd earn about $600.
Not bad for a new truck payment and only working maybe 2.5 days out of 7.
That's what you can pull off when you don't take cheap freight.

If I was doing a Swift flease at $1.30 a mile and did the same 842 miles with the same fixed and fuel costs and took the rest of the week off I'd be negative nearly $600 and then would have to dig myself out at $1.30

That's why % and picking your own freight is the way to go.

Anyways another thing I've been thinking about is fuel in Indiana and Missouri is nearly .50 cheaper than in PA mainly due to huge taxes there.. factor that plus the never ending hills in PA destroying your MPGs what does that mean for rates?
If I ran 2800 only in Indiana and got 7.5 mpg vs running 2800 miles only in PA at 6.5 MPG
That comes to spending an extra $340 in fuel running in PA based on current fuel prices.
Which basically means a driver running in Indiana at $1.60 all miles basically earns the same as a driver in PA running at $1.72 all miles.
Just something to think about when looking at higher rates there and the Northeast where there's all those hills and higher fuel prices.

If you are a mileage paid flease driver that's a huge reason to refuse freight to the Northeast

What a day...had to have 3 loads pulled off because a shipper was running behind on preload...normally wouldn't have mattered. ..but having to deal with tropical storm from houston area threw my plans for a loop...at least I was able to get a few loads to cover for those....paying roughly e same...one of those days..but still having fun on choice...wouldn't trade it for anything

    I had a first today...

Was given bills and was told the preloaded trailer was on the yard.
Look all around and no such trailer exists BUT I did see a trailer that was one number off and felt hmmm maybe they made a mistake on the trailer number so I went to check the seal number and it was totally off.
I go back to the shipper and tell them either they really screwed up on the paperwork or the load is missing.
Told them about the only Schneider trailer I saw but said the trailer number and seal number was wrong.
They had me pull the load in front of their office, they broke the seal and looked inside.
They said they "think" this must be my load. Gave me a new seal and said for me to head out.
I felt this really very strange, wrong trailer and seal number on the bills... who makes mistakes like that?
I called Schneider to run it by them and they told me to head out.
5 minutes later they call me and say STOP do not go anywhere! Customer service says don't go!
I wait 20-25 minutes and they say okay go. Then get a message later that the load turned into a drop and a live unload.
All in all it took 3 hours for a drop and hook lmao.
So I get to the consignee and they are pissed...
Supposedly another IC showed up earlier with the wrong load. His work assignment said to go to there but his bills said to go somewhere else. The customer said this isn't his order and told him to beat it.
Then I figured out why customer service was confused and wanted me to go.. don't go and then go lol.
Then they see the wrong trailer and seal number on my bills and explained what happened and that the shipper is retarded obviously.
The customer then refused to sign or give me back any of the bills saying they must check the freight before signing anything. (on a drop) So I call Schneider and eventually they convince them to sign saying "subject to count",
You really can't make this stuff up lol.
Who makes bills of the wrong trailer and seal number. wow man
and another IC got sent to the wrong place earlier but he was dumb for not reading his bills.
This time however Schneider didn't screw up for once instead my Shipper has idiots running the place.
The guard was even cracking jokes while he broke my seal saying this happens all the time and they have ex felons working for peanuts here and they just don't give a ####.
I sure they'll eventually get fired and CR England will scoop them up lmao

Anyways after that I went on an MT hunt but it was on route and actually picked up an empty at a YRC yard.
That was my joy of a nearly 2/3s of a day for a 140 mile load lmao but it did pay $486 so whatever.
I then went to get my next load.. a long one this time going 215 miles lol.
It was a live load and it took them 3 minutes to load me.
I have just a couple boxes on my trailer home depot is paying a lot of money for.

When you do many short loads like I do there's more risk for craziness to happen more often so you better get a good rate!
