Looking at seeing how the loads are going in and around the Salt lake city area. Would it be feasible to home in the SLC area weekly or the rates in and out of this area bad?

    Rates in slc suck bad.
Going back to la your looking at 88 to 99 a mile.
Slc to the nw. 130 to 165
Nw. Down to la as bad as slc
La to Slc range from 180 to a little over 2$ a mile

how much swift lease operators make. over a year ago it was usually around 1.37. which is not much more, but it is the same and consistent no matter where you are in the country. Don't have to fight and average out the sub 1$ loads on the load board to try to get it to average out higher and such. Either program is really not all that bad. I grossed 157k my first full year leasing. Net is a mirage as you try to hide stuff in your taxes. I did very well. I took local job bc thinking about getting married again.......pray for me. hahahaha.

However.....if I went back to ever lease a truck I would look at Schneider pretty hard over Swift since they changed the pay package and put that stupid collision avoidance system in all the trucks. Before you could get a Volvo 780, T660 studio sleeper, etc etc. Now you can only get Cascadia or T680.

when I left swift at the start of MAY I was lucky to get $1.20 loaded. now my lowest rate has paid me 1.35 ALL miles. and I am running mainly midwest. yes some loads are better then others but hey my stress has went WAY down.

Lowest rate was higher than anything at Swift and you can rock out wayyyy better than $1.30 something.

I just cancelled a delayed relay load so I had to book Sunday leftover freight
My current load is Chicago to Pontoon beach which pays $3 a mile
Now I'm going to take a load in Pontoon beach going to Mount Pleasant, IA.
and then from there I'm going to deadhead to Cedar Rapids, IA to Monmouth, IL.
Both those loads pay above $2.10+ all miles including deadhead
By this time tomorrow doing those two short loads it'll be 426 miles at $2.17 all miles

Point of saying is this is that the truck doesn't move for no $1.30 anything lol
Shorter Midwest regional freight pays great.
